Yes it’s definitely true not with Apple but I’ve had that issue a bunch of times. At this point, if a place doesn’t have good customer service I don’t even frequent it. I remember I bought a Sony Vaio laptop that had a defect and I took it in and they would not fix it without a receipt. That drove me into the arms of Apple and I have been back sense.
It’s also why I like shopping at Costco and Nordstroms because they don’t treat you like a criminal if you need to return something.
Been through that shit plenty of times. Some of them workers be like I need your receipt, and ID, a bill with your address on it and I’m like “nigga is you gon’ take this toaster back or what got damn!?!?!!”
