First, in order to get a visa to come to the U.S. from a black country, you have to prove you can take care of yourself. How are you going to be able to live? Two ways. You come with a skill, etc, that is easily marketable. There is usually a job already lined up (such as the Indians with tech). So, if you are a Barbadan engineer, Kenyan PhD, Nigerian business owner in Lagos, it's a big boost towards getting a visa. The only way to come to America broke is either what is called 'Family unification' or what Republicans call 'chain migration'. You already have a family member in America who vouches for you, they will house, clothe and feed you while you get a job, etc. if you are an adult or be in school. So, they come to America with advantages over the average black person in the hood. Basically, America cherry picks the best Nigerian, Jamaican, etc. There are literally hundreds of thousands of people in Lagos, Nigeria living in shanty huts, half starving, not knowing where there next meal will be. Even if they can scrounge together a plain ticket, they will NEVER, EVER get a visa. Over 100 years ago you could come off the boat with nothing. Not today. The whole "I came here with nothing' is pure unadulterated bullshit. You can't get a visa to come. You can do it illegally penniless if you come on a tourist visa and simply over stay it. A lot of the drug dealers from the Caribbean did that back in the '80s and '90s. The hustle from the continent is to enroll in the cheapest college you can and come on a student visa and simply take the minimum work until you get a decent job doing what ever or finish school. Either way, you are 100% middle or upper class back home in order to get that. So, again, they come with resources the average black doesn't.
I've been overseas a minute back and forth. I've been in countries with a lot of Africans as well as a fair number of African-Americans. I'll use one country: Korea. I've NEVER, EVER seen any group of Africans make more money than AAs in ANY country. EVER overseas. No where close. So, flip it to Candace and other black conservatives (and white ones). Why aren't Nigerians, Ghanians doing better than black Americans in other countries? Ghana has possibly the largest black American (FBA) population of any African country, again, why do FBAs do far better there than the native Ghanains who are used as examples in America. There are a fairly large number of Nigerians in Ghana. Not too far away, 2 very small countries between them (Benin and Togo). I've been there. The brothers there far, far exceed the average local as well as non Ghanian Africans. So, why aren't the Nigerians in Ghana outproducing FBAs there? Or pretty much anywhere?
Of course the last argument is then why aren't all these countries doing so well if everyone has an engineering degree etc?
Finally, the whole 'Black kids do better in White classes' BS. The black classes are in the hood. Name me one predominantly white school where all the black kids are in one class? This one is so insanely asinine. Schools with predominantly black students are underfunded. In LA, the famous Crenshaw HS is in the LA Unified School District. Birmingham HS in the San Fernando valley is in the same school district. At one time (this was years ago), the teachers at Crenshaw were making copies of the pages so all students can get books. Also, those schools end up with a whole lot of illegal kids who enroll before classes and a class with 17 kids becomes a class with 30 kids. This doesn't happen in the mostly white, middle class latino and other groups (Armenian, etc) high schools.
Black kids doing well are celebrated. Philadelphia has a public school called Central. It's arguably the best public school in the city. The black kids there go on to Ivy league schools, they have their share of doctors, lawyers, etc. Cosby went there. Can anyone from Philly on here tell if these students were being bullied around the City? There is a HS in Chicago, Whitney Young, Michelle Obama went there. The black kids there do very well and although mixed a fair number of southside and west side black kids go there. Give black schools the resources and they do well. She likes to quote Thomas Sowell at times, he went to a nearly all black school in Harlem. In Brooklyn, NY, Brooklyn Tech, Boys and Girls, produced great students after graduation with large black population students. She's capping its BS.
