Truly good morning 🌄 🥲
My #pov on the situation is no one is immune to bouts of DEPRESSION, that could lead to self-harm ideology which could include making a plan to END one's life. A bit like the common cold there is no cure for these onsets of mental health crisis. We need to end the stigma,💚🌱🧠🔥 so that our loved ones can know they have a confidant they can confide in until these thoughts subside. Without having a label placed on them! If the mindset/states of highs and lows are constant then maybe it would need to be diagnosed....

I was not really sure who he was as I never watched the Ellen show or whatever it is calls. When I heard he had died, I didn't think suicide though cause everything people seemed to be sharing... he was always so happy. I have to wonder what was going on that his wife didn't notice. I think back to other cases like this where the dude seemed so happy and upbeat and just takes his life at random. Men are suffering in today's world and many people just ignore it.

Even a "successful" Black man can be mentally broken by society and its evils. These mental health issues are generational curses from several points in Black American history. In my opinion, traumatic events not only changes a person's brain but their DNA as well. These things can be passed to the next generation. You can clearly see in this thumb nail that this man has been faking that smile for years. Look at his eyes. He was clearly in some sort of distress but Black men are programmed to be strong & silent about problems. On the flip side, the media is really using this man's suicide as a moment to point out that all Black men are potentially unstable. They keep talking about this as if this man was a major celebrity when he was a minor character on Ellen I believe. I'm not trying to minimize the brother's life but I understand when the white media is trying to create a narrative. The narrative is,Black people are mentally unstable and dangerous.

I agree 💯 it start with us letting black men know it's ok to feel your emotions. We need to love on black men s little more instead of letting the dominant society dictate to the black community how black men should feel. Aback men committing suicide at a higher rate then black women .

We as women have to do a better job at spotting the signs in our men. My dad never showed me his pain or struggle so I had this mindstate that strong men never get weak or sad or hurt. I didn’t realize until I got older that the times my dad got up from the dinner table or the times where he went into the room or outside for a smoke were the times he was vulnerable. The times where he was unsure, scared, afraid, hurt, etc. We as women have to realize that men have emotions, feelings too and that we need to recognize and nurture that side too.
