Don't know anything about Baba. .. in other cultures, Arabic and Amharic , the word abbat means father (baba in Swahili, which is kind of a mixture of Bantu/Arabic means Mister or father) ... So, it could be a colloquial term for that (given, Hindu or whatever the language is isn't in any of those families ... So who knows, it's just a babble at this point :)
It could just be a slang or term used to address certain individuals, many cultures in Asia and Africa tends to have a certain terminology for addressing different classes of people.
