...and can't blame you. I have been there. I was regarded as a 'tourist' and not even a tourist on the same level as the white boys. Not as good as them but not related to the people.

My problem is tryna have it both ways. The diaspora is sought for help when you are in trouble but keep it moving otherwise.

When you understand how Africans have let ethnic difference plunge the entire country into slavery you’ll understand why you’ll be treated differently when you go.

You’re looked at as a different ethnicity and to them you might as well be a Martian. You add in some white worship and you have a recipe for disaster.

I hope more “Black” movements start taking shape on the continent because I think it’s one of the few things that can supersede ethnicity.

I've a few dear friends that visited Zambia for a few months. They're saying it's one of the friendliness places you could ever go to. They're seriously thinking about moving there.

He’s right we arent African but that last part if that last part was true then Ghana wouldn’t be pandering to us with that year of return scam. They want our tourist dollars to help build up their economy that they don’t want us to have any part of… kinda like slavery.

No, they aren't. They want to change the narrative though. They were created in a lab. The only species on Earth with 3DNA.
They've only been here 6,000 years. We've been here millions of years.
The fossils that have been found belonged to Black women over 65 million years old.

Being African doesn't mean having darker skin because every skin color, hair type, facial feature, and body size is in Africa. While we may have mixed DNA it is 30% tops on average for a Black American with two Black American parents and guess what that 70% is.

West African! Even saying that we are not culturally African is partly a stretch because some of the way we prepare our foods and speak our language is directly from our African heritage. Black American English takes West African syntax and sentence structure and combines it with English words which is why it sounds so foreign.

But even if we accept that our culture is 100% unique that doesn't change that we are an African people. You can look in the mirror and see it. We look no different than many from Nigeria and Senegal.

The trip thing is this. They will tell a guy who was born in America of Nigerian parents or born there and left as a baby and the guy grew up in the UK, Canada and America and visits one day. They will tell him, nah you ain't Nigerian.

Same in the Caribbean, if you don't have the local accent, you are not really from there, your parents are.

However, if you are famous they'll claim you.
"Dat NBA MVP basketball player be Nigerian like we'.
or "De NBA MVP from yaad" (did I get it right Rollie? lol)

Other countries as well. Korean women who marry brothers and have a baby, that kid is persona non grata in Korea. Straight up...unless you are Super Bowl winner and half Korean Hines Ward, then you get love. Same with Naomi Osaka, so its not just with us but a lot of folks.

Anyway, I don't care about other groups, if its black people disowning or other negative things on other black people for no valid reason based on superficial ish (jealousy, envy, lineage, culture, whatever) , its off code.

They'll take them tourist dollars with a smile and call you 'bredda' though, I've seen that first hand. haha. As long as you going back.

On balance, not a lot but like Tariq, have met some cool ass black folks from all over. The problem is there aren't nearly enough of them and they are in the minority.
