It's similar to how college basketball programs have to fight hard to make it into the NCAA tournament every year.I can see how it could be a good motivator for teams to always perform their best and stay competitive, rather than becoming complacent. It would certainly make for an interesting NBA and other major US professional sports league format. Who knows, maybe it's something that could be explored in the future!"
