That's cool. Listening to different types of music instead of sticking to one sound is important, can't be living off one genre forever. I heard that listening to music can change your world view and I also know that from experience. Subjecting yourself to one or two genres can make you miserable.A lot of those are Funk and R&B bands so don’t be disappointed.
Yes listening to everything is straight just wanted to let you know since you called out Black Rock Bands exclusively. That's cool. You listed some of the best bands/artists ever! Santana is probably my favorite artist you've listed, but I also love The Commodores, The Gap Band, etc. I used to listen to funk as a kid growing up in the late 90's and early 00's. When I was really young, I remember my uncle telling me I must be an old soul since most of the stuff I enjoyed listening to was from the 70's.EWF, Kool & the Gang, Lakeside, SOS Band, Atlantic Starr, Tower of Power, Brass Construction, The Bar-Kays, Rose Royce, The Isley Brothers, Sly & the Family Stone, The Commodores, The Ohio Players, Parliament Funkadelic, BT Express, Mtume, Midnight Star, Slave, The Gap Band, Blackstreet, Digital Underground, The Jackson 5, The Ike & Tina Turner Review, Rick James, AWB (not all white), MFSB, Barry White & the LUO, Santana, War, Billy Preston, James Brown & the Fabulous Flames, Donny Hathaway, Bob Marley & the Wailers, Black Uhuru, Third World, Inner Circle, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, Steel Pulse, Tavares, The Spinners, Mint Condition, Cameo, Brick, The Brothers Johnson, Guy, Jodeci, The Temptations, The Mircles, Pieces of a Dream, Fourplay, Ramsey Lewis.
I like Jimi Hendrix & Lenny Kravitz.
