I've always said that Mexican food dishes are the exact same thing just prepared different, almost like Chinese food, same stuff just different spices.

Wow that actually is cute but sad too. Gotta make sure your kids are getting an adequate dose of both cultures.
Certain foods have to be done right or they just don't work. I have had terrible Mexican food and I have had terrible soul food. It is crazy that making food is so much of an art form that you can see not everyone is good at it, even if they had been doing it for years.
