A lot of us are carrying trauma passed down from generation to generation and don’t even know that we are afraid. When you talk to a lot of the older generations and talk to them about defeating white supremacy they instantly tell you to go back to picking the the metaphorical cotton because that’s what life is supposed to be. They do not see the system or what can be, it’s sad but we just have to write them off as a loss.

We have to work harder than the rest but if I can come from group homes foster care being on my own at 17✊🏽 owning a home getting in the NYC union married.Working my ass off keep my dignity as a man.Most don’t put the time in to develop ourselves.Most of us think if the are the token so called black they will be better off. But when you lose a little piece of yourself everyday trying to be someone else’s flunky until you don’t have nothing left for you or your family.How do you expect you wife kids to respect you ECT.Come on!
