a few days ago I jumped into a Twitter space I believe Tariq and another cat named Mel started simply asking how does immigration benefit Foundational Black Americans?
as I was listening to the start of the conversation was pretty straightforward and easy to understand, then for some reason, the Nigerians started to pop in the room and made the whole thing about them. The question was based on immigration not African immigration, immigration in general. I heard people reminding them that it wasn't specifically about them but they wouldn't let it go so, almost 4 days later we still have Twitter spaces spawn from this one conversation. The African immigrants have made it all about them, again!

The codifying that's happening with the FBA is long overdue in my opinion, I love to see how we have each other back's, now we need to direct this energy towards the true enemy. I don't see any African as lesser than me, I don't hate any of them either I just have an issue when they come here and show nothing but disrespect for the FBA family and side with white people.

what are your thoughts on this?

I had a co-worker from Senegal and I used to ask him questions about the continent. He was a real cool cat never talked down on anyone,......but if there were any group of people he didn't get down with it was the Nigerians. Hearing him talk about them was the same way folks from Costa Rica talk about Nicarauguans. I was pretty green so I didn't quite understand it until I kept hearing the stories about they way they act when the get here. I guess I always thought everyone was like Fela Kuti.

I guess I'm not surprised. but this has been educational because I have been able to see and hear the vitriol for FBA in real time. and they all seem to have the same 3 talking points. That many people saying the same thing and ignoring what we are actually saying reminds me of the All lives matter white folks who keep pretending like Blacks are disparaging all other groups of people when they say Black lives matter. This is needed though. Time for a house cleaning. Next up: Domestic Coons. Let's get them out the paint.
