I am not sure if we have a thread for this here or not but for me, I view my pets as members of my family. I always had a deep love and respect for nature and wildlife. My two cats are my babies and I love them. I grew up with several animals as my mother was always keen on having them around me and my brothers to show us and teach us to respect nature and living creatures. My dad was never big on keeping a lot of animals but he loves dogs and snakes. Still has a big python to this day.

So I generally allow my wife to have access to my bank account. All I ask is if she plans to make any big purchases to ask/tell me ahead of time so I know. I have always wanted her to have access to my money for our daughters.

I don't ask her for access to her bank account in return. This is really because I don't need her money and I'd rather her use it for our kids.

So over the last month I noticed she has been short on money and spending a lot more of mine than usual.

It turns out she is sending lots of her money to her brother who is locked up in prison.

I personally have a principle of that I don't send money to someone in prison. Especially when the offense is drug related! I left home at 18 and have never done drugs. This is her brother's 4th time being locked up on drug related offenses.

I asked her to stop sending him money and she tells me I can't tell her what to do with her money.

All the while she is spending my money.

So my response was this....

I don't want her spending any of my money only so she can send her money to her brother who is locked up. She can use my bank account but only if it's for our daughters.

Anything else other than for my kids my bank is now off limits to her!

Am I wrong?

Well, it looks like they are starting to make a distinction between Black American, and African in some organizations. I agree with it. The only thing that I know, is living out here in the Bay, I came across alot of Africans who looked down on Black Americans, and said we were not African. I guess they got their wish. I wish the best for all black people around the world. However, I have dealt with many Africans out here, and they don't see themselves as having anything in common with Black Americans at all. Not to mention, many of the African women who come here, from my experience, have a real problem with Black American Men. They would rather date a white man than a Black American man. I learned a long time ago, many of these Africans aren't really your brothers and sisters at all. They call us Akata, Jareer, and all types of derogatory names.

As some of you know I used to be a police officer. I of course left that career field and am now working as a nurse.

I see it as this.

Police officers all fall into 1 or more of 3 categories. All of them are dangerous to black people.

Category 1 - Racists

It is no secret that police officers can have a tendency to be racist. It was even reported by the FBI that white supremacist has infiltrated law enforcement and the justice system at all levels. I don't need to explain why this is dangerous and won't go on too long about this. There are literally threads here dedicated to just this issue.

Category 2 - Dumb

Police aren't known to be one of the smartest professions. Just look around on YouTube and you will see a multitude of videos on just how dumb cops are. The issue is that once they are in police academy and graduate they think they are smart and don't know anything about the law or what rights citizens have.

I was a police on a federal level. Actually twice when I think of it. First time was I was a police officer (civilian not military) on an Air Force Base. The academy I graduated from was taught on an 8th grade education level.

The second time I was in law enforcement was in the line of my nursing career. I was a nurse at a federal prison. We were required to graduate from FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) the same as the Corrections Officers. This course too was taught on an approximately 8th grade level. The only part of the course that was taught at a bit higher level was the portion that went over law and rights of citizens and inmates.

The first reason this is dangerous to black people is because cops have a tendency to violate our rights more often than white citizens because they feel we don't have means to sue if they do.

We'll get more into the second reason after category 3.

Category 3 - Cowards

Police officers are cowards. They are scared of their own shadow and only get into this job because they think that they can use deadly force for any threat they may face and figure they won't face any real threats just on basis of the badge and the gun.

This is dangerous because the cop who is a coward will be unreasonably afraid of a black citizen and will shoot them for the slightest thing they feel may be a threat. Even if it is absolutely unreasonable.


I said earlier I'd get back to why category 2 is dangerous for another reason to black people. That is because when you combine category 2 and 3.

When you have a cop that is a coward but they are too dumb to be able to do anything else this is a danger to society. You take a cop that is to dumb to switch careers but they are scared of any conflict. They are far more likely to kill an innocent, unarmed black person.

Can you think of any dangerous categories that police may fall into?

While I was out running errands I was listening to a Katt Williams interview and he said that he couldn't be a black only comic because blacks are only 14% of the population( paraphrase) and my light bulb came on.Stacey Abrams made the same type of comment recently, so my question to that is are we wasting our time with politicians and entertainers?

I wanted to mention this. I think it is important for people to understand how the body functions in relation to the sun.

In order to get D3, we need to spend time in the sun. Most people know this. What most people don't understand is that the darker your completion and the more fat you have on your body, the more time you need for your body to actually produce it. A fair-skinned person (think redheads) needs a quarter of the amount of time in the sun as a black person of the same size. You will need more time if you are overweight, and more time if you are older.

I feel a lot of health issues stem from the fact that we just don't get enough sunshine. I am mixed so I don't need as much as my black friends/family but I need more than that of my white friends/family.

When we don't get enough D3, it affects our mental health, bone health, immunity, and more. What you eat matters but I feel like this is overlooked by a lot of people because most don't think anything of it. It is estimated that in the US alone, over 70% of adults are D3 deficient and I can bet you those numbers are higher in black people, especially black women who are overweight. I think people could benefit from getting their levels checked once a year and making sure we make the most out of summer, especially if you live in an area that has 4 seasons where D3 production is basically 0% in the winter.

Background checks are literally just a distraction.
Just about every shooter bought the gun they used through legal means.
The gun show loopholes are a distraction. Can you think of a mass shooter that bought their gun at a gun show?

Assault rifles are a distractive talking point. The same damage can be done with your average 9mm.

Even if all 3 of these things were fixed we'd still have mass shootings.

My suggestion is to regulate guns the same way we do vehicles.

1. Require a license to own a gun they must be renewed at least on a biannual basis.

2. Require liability insurance to own a gun.

3. As a condition of the license and insurance a thorough examination by a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist must be completed. Any diagnosis such as bipolar, depression, anxiety etc would disqualify you.

Insurance companies would be required to have access to your social media to review in setting your monthly premiums.

4. Require registration on guns that must be renewed on an annual basis.

You could not buy and pick up a gun until you present paperwork for all of the above being completed. Once you get the gun the initial registration is completed.

5. Failure to register annually would result in fines. The fines would increase in amount if not paid. If that fines go unpaid you would not be able to renew vehicle registration or driver's license.

You would be given a choice of paying the fines or giving up your firearms and having the fines dismissed!

You then cannot buy a firearm again for 2 years!

None of this precludes you from having a gun.
It just makes sure that you are safe to have it. It makes sure that they are properly tracked.

Having to go through such means to obtain a firearm would almost certainly ensure that a person thinking of a mass shooting either doesn't get the gun or having to go through all these steps I'll call him to back off the idea.

They sell 60 copies on opening day….yaaay.. they throw a huge party because the movie made a huge profit, yall eating fancy steak and drinking dom perignon you’re happy because you’re in a hit movie but wait a minute…

Revenue: $60
Profit: $30

The studio made their money back on the first day but how much did you make? You made 60 cents! But the studio takes it because they loaned you $10 at the beginning of production. So you’re touring, doing pressers, etc the movie sells more and more but YOU GET NOTHING. In fact, the studio says “YOU OWE ME MONEY!” Let’s say they sell 900 copies…

They would have made $870 dollars and YOU WOULD STILL OWE THEM! You won’t be out of debt until they sell 1000 copies which would have made them a fortune while all you’ve seen for your work has been $10. This is why certain artists sell millions but will be flat broke because they end up owing imaginary debt to an organization.

Best thing to do is to step up to the plate as an equal partner rather than essentially an indepenednt contractor doing the art. If they like your work, tell them to give you a signing bonus rather than a loan “advance”. Or step to the plate with part of the production fees so you can negotiate the rev split. OOOOOR go independent.
