Washington state is getting ready to roll out the ID.me facial recognition system dropped by the IRS last month over privacy and equity concerns.

Human rights activists and some federal lawmakers are asking state government officials, including in Washington, to ban the system. Amid the outcry, Washington’s Employment Security Department says it doesn’t use ID.me to verify the identities of people claiming jobless benefits — but plans to start doing so in June.

“Recently, we launched a competitive procurement process to secure a tool claimants would use to verify their identity before applying for benefits,” said Nick Demerice, director of public affairs. ID.me, Demerice said, was the winning vendor.

I don't know if any of ya'll knew about this but when I heard about it, it freaked me out. This is Chinese-level infiltration and I am glad enough people were pissed about it. We need to make sure that tech is never used against us. It already is in many areas but if they get to a point where they are publically tracking us without shame, it is going to be a problem. I love the concept of crypto but this is one of the reasons why I always say we need to keep the physical dollar alive.

The problem with being hyper-aware of white supremacy is sometimes it creeps into your dreams. I won't explain or try to tell my dream, for some reason when people try to tell me their dreams it's f*ck'n annoying, so I'll save you from being annoyed. For the past few weeks, I haven't been able to sleep through the night because I have dreams/nightmares of situations having to deal with racist white people. I'm sure it has a lot to do with seeing and hearing about white supremacy every day, I wish I didn't have to.
When I'm trying to interpret what my dream was about, I start thinking about the coons, immigrants, and, other non-white races that are racist AF towards #FBA , It makes my world feel small and, makes my hate grow for white supremacy and #OffCode immigrants.

Simon Leviev -- AKA the "Tinder Swindler" -- is now in the crosshairs of the extremely wealthy diamond-titan family that he pretended to be a part of ... they've just filed a criminal court complaint against him.

Guy Ophir -- lawyer for the true Leviev family -- says charges were filed Monday morning in Israel against Simon, telling us justice must be served for the malice brought against the Leviev name.

The legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- outline the ways in which Simon allegedly took advantage of the family, including most notably changing his name from Shimon Yehuda Hayut to Simon Leviev to give the appearance of wealth ... Simon claimed to be a part of a wealthy family, with ties to the diamond industry.

Ophir tells TMZ ... according to Israel law, only the state can file criminal charges ... but there is an exception to the rule -- in cases of "Malice Defamation" like this one.

In these cases, the person that was hurt can file a private criminal charge and ask for criminal punishment. By using the Leviev family name, Ophir claims Simon committed malice defamation and malice invasion of privacy.

A man police identified as Andrew Walls, 26, was caught on video outside a bar in the early hours of Sunday, stumbling and scuffling with other patrons while spewing a torrent of racial slurs. His victim, 23-year-old Cameron Morgan, was passing by with a friend when she heard Walls and others around him screaming “Fucking n---ers.”

She later told her father that she confronted Walls after realizing she was the only Black person around.

“We were like ... ‘You can’t say that. That’s not OK,’” she told her dad, local teacher and former sportswriter David Lee Morgan Jr., who recorded the conversation and provided a transcript to HuffPost.

Video taken by Cameron Morgan’s friend shows what happened next: Walls squares up, points his finger at Morgan, and repeats the racist slur, adding: “Bitch, shut your mouth.” He then cocks his right fist and punches her directly in the face, the impact of which releases a blood-curdling pop.

Morgan was treated for a concussion.

Apple is developing a new pay later service that will let customers pay for Apple Paypurchases in installments over time, reports Bloomberg. Installment payment options will be available for all ‌Apple Pay‌ purchases, with the feature not limited to Apple products.

The service is similar to Paypal's Buy Now, Pay Later feature, and internally, it's being called "‌Apple Pay‌ Later."

Apple is planning to partner with Goldman Sachs on the ‌Apple Pay‌ installments plan, with Goldman Sachs serving as the lender for the loans needed for the monthly installment plans. Apple currently works with Goldman Sachs on the Apple Card, but the new installment plan option is not limited to the ‌Apple Card‌ and will not require users to have an ‌Apple Card‌ to use the feature. According to Bloomberg, when a user makes a purchase using ‌Apple Pay‌, they will be able to pay for it across four interest-free payments made every two weeks or across several months with interest.

As with the ‌Apple Card‌, ‌Apple Pay‌ Later users will need to be approved through an application submitted through the Wallet app on the iPhone, which is also where payments will be managed. The service will not require a running credit check. Some of the ‌Apple Pay‌ Later plans will exclude late fees and processing fees, costing users only interest for the longer-term plans.

Apple is hoping the buy now, pay later system will increase ‌Apple Pay‌ adoption and persuade ‌iPhone‌ users to use their ‌iPhone‌ to pay for items instead of standard credit cards. According to Bloomberg, the service is still in development and features could be changed or canceled before it launches.

The four payment play is called "‌Apple Pay‌ in 4" internally, while the longer-term payment plans are dubbed "‌Apple Pay‌ Monthly Installments." Users will be able to choose any credit card to make their payments over time with the ‌Apple Pay‌ Later plan, and it is not yet clear what interest rates will be.

White farmers sued the federal government, based on racial discrimination, stopping the aid assigned during the pandemic for black farmers in this country. This is what we go through. The people that are the most privileged go at the people with the least privilege. No other group has to contend with the hate that we contend with. It's amazing that no one else has to fight for moneys owed but us. This is the do low twist by both the Dems and Repubs but since we vote mainly for the Dems, they use this as a way to say that they tried but someone else got in the way when it pertains to us. We will continue to fight, write letters, make calls and stand up for the things that do not represent our interests.
