Yes indeed, family!

The Jerry Springer show was one of those shows my parents didn't like me watching. When I was a kid, I thought it was some hilarious stuff, but now days I can't watch the show. Looking back, I realize how awful these types of shows were towards black youth. I would also add Maury Povich into the mix here, because he hasn't helped with his constant episodes about paternity tests, or lie detector episodes.

Looking back, it was just shows to make fun of people of color and to toy with people who aren't in a good spot in their life. I think this is a big reason why Jerry Springer was cancelled, and good riddance. We still have Maury, but he's calmed it down a lot. I remember when he would have trans men/women come on the show and he'd ask the audience to guess if they were a man or woman. Probably won't be seeing episodes like that anymore. But he still does the paternity test and lie detector episodes.

These shows are racist imo. They probably asked every guest to act stupid and weird, and then it makes them look stupid in the process.

What did you guys think of these shows? Do you think Maury will ever get cancelled? Knowing him, he will probably die before they ever cancel the show.

I have some family videos on VHS that I would like to convert to digital. I've been looking around the web for some capture devices, and I found a few, one I am considering is the Easy VHS to DVD device. It's just a USB dongle with an S-Video and AV connections. I have a VCR in my garage somewhere so I will have to bring that out, but are there any others that may be better suited for capturing VHS?

Also, I kinda want to go through the tapes I used to record my shows when I was a kid. I had a thing about recording stuff on VHS, thought it was so cool as a kid. So I might have a bunch of tapes with commercials and stuff, kinda tempted to record those and upload them to YouTube haha!

Do you guys know of any other capture devices to copy VHS tapes?

I did not expect to hear any news about this recently, but it sounds like Jussie Smollett will be going to trail for providing false allegations back in 2019, saying he was attacked by two white men, who put a noose around his neck. That was proven false I guess and he thought he had paid for his crime, as he did community service already and has paid a $10,000 bond. But it sounds like that isn't going to be enough anymore and the courts are taking him to trial, or attempting to.

What do you think will come of this case? Does Jussie Smollett have a chance? Or is he likely to lose the case?

Don't get me wrong, it's a great show, but it's as if the US didn't know about foreign language films and shows before this. Why is it so popular? There are so many great foreign language films and shows out there that match the quality of this show and then some. Battle Royale is a movie that comes to mind right away for me. High Schoolers are forced to fight, with only one winner to come out.

I'm all for it though, because if Netflix starts to produce more foreign films, awesome. I just find it odd that all of a sudden, people are finally checking out foreign language content, and it makes me happy. If you can guess, I get into a lot of foreign films. Some are just better than American made films.

I know some people who are obsessed with it. Like they can't wait to start putting out lights, buying gifts, and all that. I also know some people who dread it every year and are the last to do anything for the holiday. I even know a couple of people who legit go into hiding cause they don't wanna deal with family drama. About 2 years ago my Doctor suggested I start Ranting online about whats going on around me. Said it would help lower my BP and it has. ... I'm 25 min into this... my hopes were high because I've been a Halloween movie fan since the first one, i'm a little disappointed. i wont spoil anything but when the acting is sub par ,it takes me out of the movie.

Black family? It's not too late to get in on the crypto wave. Don't be left behind like when master card and amazon went public. Hold on to $200 and watch it grow. No I dont have a Ref code I want you to use..What I DO want is more of MY ppl to buy or mine crypto. The government won't ban it like China did. The US won't leave that much tax revenue on the table and just walk away.

I heard a while back, that Spotify doesn't pay artists a whole lot. I don't know if that's true or not. But how much do artists tend to make through Spotify? How much does Spotify get from artists?

I imagine big stars probably get paid in other ways, but the smaller, indie stars, are they making good money when their music is played a ton? I feel like the more plays you get, the more money you should be paid right? Does Spotify play based on total play count? How are they even paying artists, when anyone could listen to a catalog of music for free anytime essentially?

Honestly, I kinda want to see that happen. He'll probably be a grandpa by then. Could you imagine, the first grandpa to play in the NFL. But, I doubt he will play that long. He even thinks that won't happen, but he also said that he doesn't want to end up retiring and regretting that decision. I could see him hitting 50 though. But 55 is a little bit much. But, I would like to see it happen. What about you?

I've dated a few women who I think weren't really that invested in our relationship. One girl I dated, I swear she dated me to just get back at an ex, and once he came back to her, she broke it off with me. I also dated this another girl who I was really into. We dated for a few months, and then she just broke up with me. Saw her a week later with this dude at a bar and that was it. I get a text from her the same night, apologizing for it, and saying that she really likes me, but she's just seeing what's out there for now. But, we start to text again, and it got sexual pretty fast.

I assumed she was just on a date, but a week later, I go to the same bar again and she's there with the same dude, making out and everything. I realized, she was just keeping me around in case her current relationship didn't work out. The same night, she texts me, asking what I'm up to. I didn't respond. She got a bit annoyed by that, and called me a bitch and that was it.

Has this ever happened to you? Where you're really into someone, and you think they are too, but it turns out to not be the case and they're just stringing you along as a backup boyfriend if her current one doesn't work out.

Things are gonna get really murky soon.

Anyone interested in checking out the new Batman movie? I heard they will be releasing a trailer during their DC Fandom event that I think is happening tomorrow. It's going to be airing on YouTube for free. I thought at first this was going to be some private event and we'd have to wait for a leaked trailer, but nope, it's a free live virtual event.

I can't stand most of the stuff the DCEU has done. Maybe Joker, Suicide Squad and the upcoming Batman movie, but that's really about it. I watched the Snyder cut of Justice League and it was a chore from start to finish. I don't know why I put myself through that. Same with Batman V Superman. These movies are often way too damn long.

But, I'm pretty hyped up for The Batman. What about you?
