Tyla, Who Is NOT Black Just Won A Black Entertainment Television Award-Let's Chat

I want to start off by saying I think Tyla is very, very gifted. Beautiful. She definitely stands out.

However, given that Blackness is an experience and not simply just music, I have a problem with her winning a Black Entertainment Television Award. Here's my thing: if she is "mixed", "colored" or whatever she identifies as, she should be marketed globally and not just to Black folk. I am so sick and tired of whites and mixed whites producing music to further enmesh in Black culture and get Black dollars.

This is our fault though. We do not gatekeep Blackness and then 15-20 years down the road these same whites/mixed whites will proclaim that Blacks used to bully them and that they do not see themselves as Black anymore (Amber Rose. Jasmine Guy). Again, Tyla is talented , but I'm tired of the "I'm Not Blacks" winning Black awards and dollars. Ok, my rant is done. Yall take care. Tyla-at-2024-BET-Award-.jpg

After Landmark Chevron Ruling, Could Workplace Safety Agency OSHA Be The Next Supreme Court Target?

WASHINGTON – It's long been a conservative dream: shrinking the federal government. And on Friday, part of the dream came true: the Supreme Court tossed a 40-year principle that boosted the power of government regulators on environmental, labor and other laws.

Could the federal agency that sets workplace safety rules be the next target?

The Supreme Court may decide this week whether it will hear a challenge to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The case, pushed by business and conservative groups, and by Republican attorneys general, argues Congress violated the Constitution more than 50 years ago when it gave a federal agency − OSHA − the power to regulate workplace safety and fine companies when they endanger their workers.

The federal agency survived challenges to its rulemaking authority in 1978 and 2011.

An Agenda To Pair Dark Skinned Women With White Men In Films And Plays🤔

A few months ago, I posted an article of my true thoughts on why Hollywood and other media are pairing Black women with white men. In particular, the New Romeo and Juliet. But it is the one comment that was quite interesting...a white man tried to make a valid point, but it came off as whiny...let me know if you feel the same... the gist of my article was that I think there is a nefarious plot to keep subjecting Black women to nasty taunts and press when they have Black women play the role of a traditionally accepted white woman's role(Black Little Mermaid, Black Juliet, etc.) Don't get me wrong, I think it is a joy to see us in different spaces , but I would love to see us in more unique spaces too.
