How to ruin your Black articles with inclusive language.

I'm not even halfway into this Blavity article and I already lost interest.

Blavity needs to stop alienating its Black audience with its desperate attempts of this senseless, irrelevant inclusion of others. The article looked good at first. It even capitalized the word Black to refer to our racial group. But I noticed something strange as I was reading. Does anyone else notice anything odd in this article here?

25 Years Later: Why UPN Is Black America’s Unforgotten And Forever Beloved Television Network

When I think of television and programming, UPN instantly comes to mind. This, 2020, United Paramount Network celebrates its 25th anniversary of showcasing Black culture and trends as well as being one of the leading media influences of today’s shift in urban entertainment. It was home to some of the most iconic shows seen on Black television, like Girlfriends and Moesha.

Before we tried to figure out who shot “Ghost” St. Patrick or before we craved to see the next episode of *Empire, *Scandal and *How To Get Away With Murder, Black Americans of the ’90s depended on UPN to provide them with authentic content that related and represented Black and brown households. I understand that the average Gen Z-er young adult probably wouldn’t know how impactful UPN was to the culture, or how it set the bar for Black programming. However, if you are a ’90s baby, then you already know and remember how much UPN meant to us, especially seeing reflections of our own people from the neighborhood on television.

Just for clarification, UPN was not an actual “Black network,” but I still consider it to have been one of the meccas for Black television, as it has helped impact an entire generation and shape the careers of some of today’s biggest stars. I mean, who can forget shows like Sister, Sister, The Hughleys, Moesha, The Parkers, Eve, Girlfriends, Half & Half, One on One, All of Us and so many more to name? UPN had all of us bonding with family and friends over quality content, whether it was sitcoms or TV dramas. We all loved to tune in and share our thoughts about what’s coming up next in future episodes.

As we celebrate longevity, we must recognize that the UPN Network premiered on January 16, 1995, and emerged at a time where diversity and representation were minimal for African Americans, especially when trying to secure leading roles or their own television shows. UPN set the tone, created opportunities and jobs, as well as built the foundation of what it meant to showcase #BlackExcellence on and off the screen.

I remember when UPN used to be the go-to station for primetime television and how it was responsible for cultivating long-lasting content that’s still popular and watched today. I can’t believe it’s been 25 years; it feels as though it just premiered.

I can say UPN was definitely way ahead of its time compared to other Black networks it competed with. Because the network focused on producing resonating content, it went from being underrated, to say the least, to setting a precedent when it came to showing diversity, urban programming and listening to an audience of people who weren’t being catered to nor valued in the television industry.

Right now with the emergence of reality TV and today’s popular shows, we’re witnessing a growing movement and a variety of Black content and actors. However, UPN was one of the first networks to show its appreciation to the Black community as well as highlight emerging Black talent. Not to mention, UPN was one of the first networks to have full programming with all-Black lead characters and cast members.

Can you imagine how monumental it was for young teenage Black girls to see a then 16-year-old Black girl with box braids with her own show featuring a full Black cast on their TV screens? Grammy Award-Winning singer, Brandy Norwood most definitely made a mark in history dominating her role as Moesha, but what also made it better was that her character not only had two educated parents, but they were also married with sustainable jobs, family-oriented and very involved in each other's lives.

If I know one thing, this 25th anniversary has shown me that no matter how fast time moves, everyone loves going back down memory lane to revisit what makes them happiest. UPN helped to contribute to many family/comedic moments and some of my generation’s favorite TV shows of all time.

Lastly, as the demand and buying power for Black television and content is on the rise, it’s important to acknowledge influences that have helped to empower this growing shift, which is why I decided to pay homage to the United Paramount Network. It was, and will forever be, the unforgotten staple in the Black community.

Yes. Let's go, Black, Black, Blackity, Blavity, Black, about everything Black and then suddenly add the phrase "Black and Brown" and then go Black to being Black, Blackity, Black again like nothing Black happened. This so-called "brown" audience was mostly watching things like Telemundo (Latino), Bollywood media (East Indian) and other channels for "brown" people. This Black article about Black entertainment has absolutely nothing to do with "brown" people, yet you just had to include them in our plight and our celebration "just because." That's like doing a documentary strictly about Mermaids and then the footage cuts off to a dinosaur playing baseball before going back into the documentary. It's jarring. The programming and the agenda are definitely real.

Was He At Least Partially Right?

If you remember back in 2012 Mitt Romney famously made his comments about the 47%. This ended up costing him the election some would say.

Back then I was hardcore vote blue no matter who Democrat. At that time I though those comments were the most racist thing ever. I looked at those comments again.
He was saying what he said about the 47% from a place of that they were poor and dependent on government etc. It was pretty obvious he meant black people.

However when you think of the vote blue no matter who group he was right in that he would never convince them to vote any other way. He wasn't talking about them though he was just talking about black people as w whole as if we're all poor and destitute. That is completely racist and wrong.

Looking back now with a different and less biased perspective he was right about one thing. There is a constituency that he would never convince to even consider voting for him.

There are a group of black people that a Republican could offer reparations and have his party on board with it and they would still be against him just because it's not coming from a Democrat.

I think he got the part right that they will never vote for him.

About that part I don't think he was wrong. The only thing he got wrong was the reason why?

REPOST: POLICE REFORM AGENDA

One of the things we generally ask for is Police Reform.
The white supremacists are constantly trying to frame the narrative of what that means. Most of their suggestions are trash.

Some people both black and white don't even understand what qualified immunity truly is. I especially don't think white people understand because if they did they would be for removing it.
First let's define and discuss what qualified immunity is.

"Qualified immunity grants all government workers immunity for violating constitutional and civil rights unless the victims of those violations can show that their rights were “clearly established.” Although innocuous sounding, the clearly-established test is a legal obstacle nearly impossible to overcome. It requires a victim of government abuse to identify an earlier decision by the Supreme Court or a federal appeals court in the same jurisdiction, holding that precisely the same conduct under the same circumstances is illegal or unconstitutional. If none exists, the government worker is immune. It doesn’t matter whether the worker’s actions are unconstitutional, unreasonable, intentional, or malicious."

Thus is virtually impossible to overcome. It's like when you try to get the first job but they all require a year of experience. But how do you get the year when no one hires with less than a year.

This is the same because you can't sue a police officer directly unless he violates a right that some one else successfully sued for. But how can that be when no one else is allowed to sue because of this doctrine?

Hopefully this gave a clearer understanding.

What is our overall goal? To stop the violence and mistreatment.

Punishment and consequences is the thing that most likely curbs the bad behavior of police.

Here are some of my suggestions.

1. Remove qualified
2. Require all police to have at least an associates degree. No exceptions.
3. Require a national test with state licensure (like nurses and doctors are required to have)
4. Require police officers to carry liability insurance paid for our of their pocket
5. Create a national agency to investigate law enforcement misconduct
6. Tie federal funding to police misconduct. If any department gets more than 10 founded allegations of misconduct or unlawful use of force their federal funding is cut. Departments would be responsible to investigate. They would then be audited by the national agency I mentioned earlier. If the department says unfounded and the national agency determines it was founded their funding is cut.
* This would force departments to investigate honestly and hold officers accountable.
7. If an officer is accused of unlawful use of force he is suspended without pay pending investigation. Investigation would be required to be at least 2 weeks minimum. Any department that refuses to do so has federal funding cut.
8. Any officer with more than 2 founded use of force allegations is placed into a national database. They are fired and unable to be hired as law enforcement. If the department refuses federal funding is cut until the officer is fired. Any department that hired them has federal funding cut.
9. Criminal investigation into police misconduct and charges are done by federal prosecutors instead of local ones.
10. Any police chief or sheriff that oversees more than 20 founded use of force allegations within a year is mandated to resign immediately.

This creates consequences for their actions. It ties financial consequences for police departments that refuses to hold police accountable.
Requiring college education weeds out some the racist white supremacists who just want to be a cop to abuse black people.
Requiring liability insurance will make them think before acting in an abusive manner because then you could go after their insurance.
Like any insurance if too many claims at filed the premiums would go up causing financial consequences to the officer directly.

Requiring a state license means that the state could punish them and even revoke the license.

The crazy thing is 5,6,7,8 could be done via executive order without any need for Congress to approve. Biden just won't do it!

More Empty Symbolism

The Emmet Till Statue went up in the same Mississippi that is still ignoring undrinkable water in Black areas and white welfare theft (because that accusation is reserved to make sure Black people get resented) by someone who has the money and cooperation of authorities to steal much much more than any poor Black person ever could or would ( Not gonna name any names but his initials are Brett Favre).

So more empty symbolism to distract from a lack of real justice.

Unapologetically, the best way to heal this injustice would be the arrest of his false accuser who originally avoided arrest despite a warrant because officials "didn't want to" (you read that right. suddenly the abosolute requirements of their jobs magically became optional suggestions).

If this were a concentration camp guard during the holocaust, even all these years later, they would have hauled his half dead wheezing almost corpse into a courtroom oxygen tank, wheelchair and all.

This racist distraction is a white supremacists taunt to permanently remind us what they did yet pretend to be doing something for us. This is just passive aggressive bragging and gloating pretending to be a justice while the Carolyn Bryants, Bret Favres and Roman Polanskis get a free pass. Emmet-Till-statue.jpeg

OTHER THAN REPARATIONS?

I think it's safe to say that we all want reparations. I feel that is the only way that the racial wealth gap can truly be closed.

However I am not necessarily a single issue voter. When I say I want tangibles I mean something that will truly benefit the black community as a whole.

Some of the other things that I could get behind and a support a candidate on are:

1. Police Reform (It would have to include some good punishment provisions. Back when I first joined 6 zeros I posted a really good outline of what I feel police reform should look like. I'll repost that outline)

2. Black Hate Crimes Bill (It would need to be specifically for black people. No people of color or black and brown or minority. It needs to specifically make crimes against black people a hate crime. It would have to include harassment and crime perpetrated by police part of it.)

3. Make Black People a Protected Class (Same for this. No people of color or black and brown or minority. It would need to outline that black people are a protected class and any crim against us would automatically be a federal crime with enhanced charges based on the fact that the person is black. Whether or not the motivation was racism would need to be irrelevant. Simply that the person is black would automictically initiate the enhanced charges. This would also need to include police officers)

4. Free Public College/Stipends Or Grants for Private College for FBA. (Immigrants or children of immigrants to the country after 1940 are ruled out. If you are an immigrant and your parents/grandparents were here in the U.S. prior to 1940 then you qualify. Obviously very few if any immigrants are going to fit that. )

5. Government Backed Housing Loans for FBA Same rule as above in 4 for qualification)

6. Land Grants (

These are the types of things I think of as a black agenda. We can't just keep saying a black agenda and not be specific with things we want. For me reparations is the ultimate goal but I have always said to not just ask for cash. For me I want cash and everything else. I'm negotiating saying I want reparations and police reform and a hate crime bill, and free college and Housing Loans. I want everything because we deserve everything. I feel that way not just because of slavery but for what they put us through now.

Having to see black men killed over and over and getting no justice. Having anti-black racism on TV and part of American society with no consequence. The Democratic party turning black men and women against each other. Allowing people to be antiblack and doing nothing about it. Look at Malika Andrews and nothing was done. Look how YouTube doesn't take these divestors down despite their racist rhetoric. Look at all the anti black racist on the platform and nothing is said. Same with Facebook.

I want to be paid and given benefits for all of that!

Flint,Michigan Firefighters Neglected Black Babies!

This incident happened in May & it never got national attention. Flint, Michigan firefighters may have left two Black children in a 2nd floor apartment while it burned. The firehouse was literally a three minute walk. There names were Zyaire Mitchell & Lamar Mitchell. Here's an excerpt:

“The last message that he sent me was, ‘You’re the best mom ever,’” their mother, Crystal Cooper, recalled in an interview, speaking about Lamar. “He was just carin’ and lovin’, and if I was having a bad day, he would make me smile. He was always smiling.”
Weeks later, the city’s fire chief determined that two white firefighters initially tasked with canvassing the room in which the children were fatally injured lied about properly searching for victims.

Scambaiting channels

Does anyone here watch those YouTube channels that bait scammers? Like the ones who hijack your files on a PC and claim to be Microsoft.

There's a few people on YouTube that do live streams and videos about scam baiting. They essentially hold some of these scammers for hours on the phone. Some even hack into the security cameras of the place they're working. It's fun stuff, and the reactions they get from the scammers can be hilarious.

Does anyone here like to toy with tech support scammers/phone scammers yourself? Know any other scam baiters?

Here are a couple I know of:

Balkanizing Am*rica

More people need to advocate to balkanize this shitfest of a country, this country doesn't care about it's original inhabitants at all, we should balkanize into different countries for the racial groups that have been here, the Indians (Native American), the Whites (The bitch ass enslavers), and Blacks (AA/FBA). We would be able to govern ourselves under our own governments separate from eachother.

I can only dream youngbruhdisgusted

DEMOCRACY

I'm a black man.
Over the last 2 years the Democratic party has insulted, belittled and trashed black men.

They feel our vote is owned by them and just a given. They put out the no voting no vucking video. Biden openly said during his SOU that he wants to give police (race soldiers) more money even as they are killing us wholesale.

The way I feel about it is this. Black men don't have a democracy. Our voice doesn't matter. We go out and vote for Democrats and they didn't pass any legislation to reign in police. Our existence is determined by the blue no matter who idiots of our community!

They talk about the Republicans ending democracy. They talk about Fascism when most of them don't even know what it means.

I served this country for 8 years in the military. I continue to serve my community and my country as a nurse. I don't at all feel free.

So in 2022 and 2024 I'll be voting Republican down ballot. I don't agree with anything about the Republicans,

But damn it if I can't have a democracy as a black man then the rest of these motherf*ckers can't either!

Example of Staying On Code!!

In my hometown of Jersey City, New Jersey Jared Kushner(Jewish) son-in-law of former President Donald Trump & republican is building 3 skyscrapers in the Journal Square district. These high rise buildings are suppose to be capped at 39 stories but if you donate to the local art group you can remove the cap.
The mayor ( Steve Fulop, another Jew) had signed off on this with no hesitation. The point is it doesn't matter what political team you play on. What matters is that you stay on code.

Would you rather homeschool your children these days?

I want to have kids one day, but I've yet to meet the right woman, but one day I hope to have a family of my own. When it comes to education, I'm kinda worried about it. I think most public schools don't teach the 100% truth of our history. I want my kids to know our past, the horrible abuse the US put upon African American men and women over the years. The fact that there is still hate out there. It's pushed me further away from the idea of public schooling.

Growing up I hated school, absolutely hated it. It was probably because I was around a mostly white population and had mostly white teachers. I always felt looked down on, was bullied, and dealt with the racism of the area. It's made me consider the idea that I'd rather homeschool my future children. The issue with that, is that I'm not a teacher, I don't know a whole lot. I suppose I could look into what teachers teach, and just use the books and teach from there. But I want to also teach him our truth, and make sure he/she knows what our past was.

Oh, and I'd make sure they'll learn how to do their taxes. Because I wish I learned how to do them in school, but nope, I have to learn more math or something dumb that I won't be utilizing outside in the real world anyway. I learned about what American history wants you to know about, not about what actually happened until I looked more into the past more thoroughly.

Would you rather homeschool your children than let most public & private schools teach them? Hell, maybe homeschooling together with the kids will teach me too.

It is official, Elon bought Twitter

So the CEO and the other woman who were in charge of silencing people were terminated.

That's good and all but what now? Supposedly, everyone who was banned under "hate speech" or "misinformation" are going to get their accounts back. I am going to have to check my old account to see if this is true cause my OG one was banned a few years back.

What do you think will come of this? I think we should use it as an opportunity to spread the real truth without the fears of being silenced. Get more people off the platform and on this forum.

Do you plan on using it for anything once we no longer need to fear being banned?

Increase of black male Republicans

The voting results showed that in 2020 black men voted for Trump and Republicans in larger numbers.

Black women did too but to a lesser extent. The Democrats are confused as to why black men would vote for Trump who was pretty openly racist.

For 8 years Obama did nothing for black men. We were slaughtered by racists both police officers and civilians because they were upset about his presidency.
They run Hilary Clinton who made the super predator comments.

They then run Joe Biden who was responsible for the 90s crime bill. He had done more harm to the black community than Trump ever has. Once he got in office he wants to give race soldier police more money.

As a running mate they put Kamala Harris who was responsible for mass incarceration of black men in California. She's done more harm to the black community than Trump ever has. She's not black. She's AAPI so it's not that far of a stretch to believe she's anti black racist!

Yet they expect that all of us are politically dumb enough to just go vote blue no matter who!

Just because the person isn't saying outwardly open racist rhetoric doesn't mean that aren't racist.
Yeah yeah Trump is racist. So what. America is racist. Stop being so emotional and voting based on that.

Black men weren't voting for Donald Trump.

We're voting against the Democrats. Simple!
