WASHINGTON—The Biden administration is in talks to offer immigrant families that were separated during the Trump administration around $450,000 a person in compensation, according to people familiar with the matter, as several agencies work to resolve lawsuits filed on behalf of parents and children who say the government subjected them to lasting psychological trauma.

If you're Black and vote Democrats...let me get around the swear filter.

FUCK YOU AND EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU.

Sorry about the outburst, so unprofessional of me.

Sex in public, know anyone who was into it?

Sex in public, has anyone here done it or known anyone who has? Honestly, I did date this one woman who tried to get me to do the deed in public, but I just couldn't push myself to do it. We didn't last too long anyway, she was cool, but wasn't right for me. But, I was reminded of her recently when I heard about these couples who got caught having sex in a walmart.

So, have you ever had sex in public? Have you dated anyone who did or wanted to?

Actor charged for vandalizing George Floyd Statue

Some actor named Micah Beals vandalized the new statue that was recently unveiled in New York. No idea who this guy is, but I guess he's done some shows and other work. Probably just trying to get his name out there somehow by being an utter douchebag.

The dumbest and most random things you can buy online

What are some of the dumbest and most random things you can buy online? I've seen a fair share of oddities on Amazon especially. But what are some of the weirdest, most random items you can purchase on amazon and other sites. As well, I figure we could list finds that are just out of this world odd. Idk, lets have some fun with it. I'm sure we've all bookmarked some dumb stuff we found online.

For example, I'll begin with something I'm sure you've all seen. But it's a start to what stuff we should post in here.

Facebook rebranding as Meta

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Thursday at the company’s Connect event that the company’s new name will be Meta. “We are a company that builds technology to connect,” Zuckerberg said. “Together, we can finally put people at the center of our technology. And together, we can unlock a massively bigger creator economy.”

“To reflect who we are and what we hope to build,” he added. He said the name Facebook doesn’t fully encompass everything the company does now, and is still closely linked to one product. “But over time, I hope we are seen as a metaverse company.”

Mark Zuckerberg on why Facebook is rebranding to Meta

Zuckerberg owns the Twitter handle @meta (whose tweets are protected as of this writing) and meta.com, which now redirects to a welcome page on Facebook that outlines the changes.

As The Verge first reported on October 19th, the rebrand is part of the company’s efforts to shift gears away from being known as just a social media company to focus on Zuckerberg’s plans for building the metaverse. In July, he told The Verge that over the next several years, Facebook would “effectively transition from people seeing us as primarily being a social media company to being a metaverse company.”

Zuckerberg wrote in a blog post Thursday that the company’s corporate structure would not be changing, but how it reports financial results will. “Starting with our results for the fourth quarter of 2021, we plan to report on two operating segments: Family of Apps and Reality Labs” he explained. “We also intend to start trading under the new stock ticker we have reserved, MVRS, on December 1. Today’s announcement does not affect how we use or share data.”

What is the metaverse, and do I have to care?
Facebook has been under intense scrutiny over the past several weeks, after revelations based on damning internal documents provided to the Wall Street Journal by whistleblower Frances Haugen showed, among other things, that Facebook’s Instagram platform had become a toxic place for teenagers, especially girls. And antitrust regulators are pushing for the company to be broken up, as public trust in the social media platform is flagging.

Eight things we learned from the Facebook Papers
On Monday, multiple news outlets published further details of the internal documents disclosed to the Securities and Exchange Commission and provided to Congress in redacted form. They showed the deep concern among Facebook’s researchers that its user base was aging, and the platform was losing traction among younger generations. The documents also showed Facebook had a tiered system to prioritize which countries would receive enhanced protections around elections.

Early speculation focused on a change similar to Google’s 2015 rebrand when it announced it would become one of several companies under the umbrella of a larger holding company called Alphabet. For Facebook, the original “blue” app would join Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus under a parent company.

Sales & Markdowns

I thought since a lot of us are bound to be Christmas shopping, we could use a thread for online sales. I know for me, I do most of my shopping online these days. Just don't wanna deal with people or the hassle of getting eyeballed and lectured in stores. If you come across anything that is on a good sale or was marked down to an insanely low price, feel free to share it here.

Parallels- Blacks and Polynesians

Living in Hawaii, I see a lot of troubling parallels between FDA, the African diaspora, Hawaiians, and Polynesians. Racism, the denial of racism, gentrification, education, and more. A lot of Polynesians live day to day, and have a very slow way of thinking and handling things. They also disconnect from anything black, and a lot of times anything native. A lot of them brag about being part Japanese, Chinese, or Vietnamese.

Filipinos are in high population here and are probably the greatest mix with the native population. They are used as a buffer class, just as the other Asian populations are. They are actually dealing with white and Asian supremacy here. And the average Hawaiian would look at you like you're Beetlejuice if you brought any of this of and accuse you of being racist. A lot of them are embarrassed of what's happened here and can not cope with reality.

Does anyone else have any experience or knowledge about this??

I also noticed that Hawaiians and other Polynesians jock a lot of our FBA culture. Music, style, language, and so on. And they will get upset if you mention it.

What do you think?

Connecting some dots

Man. I'm reading this article on the Atlanta Child Murders and its frightening. I remember as a kid watching the television series starring Morgan Freeman and it spooked me. I think this was just the beginning of the end for Black Atlanta honestly. Lately, it seems like we hear about a new Black person going missing every day; multiple times. Despite how disturbing this story is, whenever there is a chance to find out new information about these cases, I have to look into it.

From everything I've gathered, it seems like a lot of cases got strung together and this added to all the chaos. I think the cops and the KKK and Saunders family had to do with a large segment. They say five of the victims knew each other. There is also a lot of claims of pedo rings and sex trafficking. And eye witness testimony about some of those men being Black ex cons. And there is also the Satanic cult angle which--well let's face it---you can't ever discount because they do exist among a certain dominant sector of society(which might be the same angle as the KKK and police force). I'm curious what ya'll think. They don't talk enough about the mutilated bodies with body parts missing or the CDC being in Atlanta near the river where a lot of bodies were found. You think Wayne Williams has any idea who might have been involved?

Anyway, I feel like we are entering another dark period where this kind of stuff can increase if we aren't vigilant. Ya'll be careful out there.

Jada Pinkett is at it again says “It’s hard to maintain healthy sex life with Will Smith”

“It’s hard,” Jada said. “The thing Will and I talk about a lot is the journey. We started in this at a very young age, you know, 22 years old. That’s why the accountability part really hit for me because I think you expect your partner to know [what you need], especially when it comes to sex. It’s like, ‘Well, if you love me, you should know. If you love me, you should read my mind.’ That’s a huge pitfall.”

Paltrow, who is currently promoting her Netflix series Sex, Love & goop, commented, “Isn’t it weird, though? It’s like someone doesn’t read your mind and we feel crushed.”

“Crushed!” Jada concurred.

She added “You tell me what you need. Tell me what you want, and on top of it, I know that I have to be accountable to do the same…I really try. It’s uncomfortable.

Even if her and Will are polygamous why can’t she just shut up about it and not embarrass herself, Will and their family? I will not be shocked when we hear about them filing for divorce.

Do you believe aliens are real?

I believe aliens are real. I mean, we're not the only habitable planet out there I'm sure, so there's got to be beings like us out there, or even better or more messed up than us. But there's got to be other beings out there who are like humans and can think, feel, speak, etc. I think it'd be cool to one day discover a planet we can actually reach that has life. Obviously it would be scary, but exciting at the same time. What do you think we'd see. What will beings look like on other planets.

Honestly, I'm kinda hoping there are other planets with humans. What if that was a reality, that other planets had human like beings, kinda like Star Wars. But I don't think it's as cool as that.
