I like fried chicken where you dip it. I don't like it soaked in sauce. It makes it too soggy. I like that crunch and you lose it once it has been sitting for more than a few minutes. Never been to any of these spots in Chicago.
When I go to Chicago, I'm always on the south side. I've had Harold's & Shark's, but Uncle Remus is on the west side so I haven't had it.
Harold's is good, but their chicken can taste really different depending on the location.
Shark's is good too, but Harold's chicken was better seasoned, IMO.

I am usually on the South or West side although I will sometimes go downtown. I only go to the north side of town to catch Chicago Cubs games. I heard that all Harold's locations do not taste the same.

I totally understand this. I don't want mine too saucy as well.
I had some like 10 years ago where they put so much sauce on the dang chicken, it fell off the bone when i picked it up and was all slimy. It ruined me. So I only get the stuff that is seasoned with sauce on the side if I want it. If it is seasoned right, most of the time it don't need it.
