With the recent school shooting in Detroit, it made me further realize that we need to figure out a solution to this. It's clear they aren't stopping anytime soon, so maybe it's time we get funding to get metal detectors installed in schools. One of the schools that my niece goes to, has them, and they also have a PA system where the doors stay closed, and if you need to enter, you need to speak through the intercom etc.

I think this would solve a lot of the shootings, because one, it should stop most from getting in, and two, others that want to get in, won't be able to enter without force, and as long as there are cameras around, it should stop some.

What do you think though? I doubt they will hire security guards to stand in schools, but maybe that's another option for some.

No that just puts a bandaid over the fact that White people feel like they can shoot and kill people at will. If that aint addressed, then you just going to have a white boy shoot people walking out the school since he can't bring his gun. It sounds aggressive but it's facts...White Americans love violence. We see it thoughout this nation's history slavery, genocide, murder, rape, burning of towns, hanging people while eating lunch, foul shit.

The problem isn't the schools or the guns, the problem is the shooter. That's a problem that white Americans need to address because it's their kids killing people in these schools, but instead they coddle them and blame mental illness.

I lean toward Mastamind here. This isn't a school or gun problem. This is the wheats having an effed up kid who they either needed to send his ass to boarding school or military school to straighten his ass out. The only area I differ is if it IS in fact a mental health issue. In that case, the wheats needed to get up out their damn feelings and put their crazy ass little uni-bomber in a psych ward and get his ass all the way together that way. However, this situation seems different. I can't shake the feeling that the parents were some low-key collaborators. Dad bought the gun a week prior and just left it laying about the house where his crazy ass demon-spawn has fast and loose access? Naw. Naw, naw, naw somethin don't add up here, to me.

Yeah I didn't think of what could happen outside of school. I was too focussed on inside. If they are going to do something like this I suppose they'd find a way to do it anyway possible.

It's always the shooter that's the problem for sure. I think people who do school shootings, have a reason they're doing it. It's most likely because they're either being bullied, or it's some past relationship, or he can't get a girl, or something. But those are all excuses and doesn't give anyone the right to shoot up a school.

I went through high school. It was not always fun. I was bullied, went through bad relationships, and was mighty jealous of dudes that dated my exes. But I never went out there and took a life because of my emotions. Yeah shit was rough at times, but I'd argue that's what made me into the man I am today. Because I learned to move on instead.

It's for sure bad parenting. I think a lot of these school shooters were white kids, who were left to do what they wanted to after getting home from school. I think a lot of them needed parents in their life to teach them right from wrong, and I'm willing to bet a lot of them either didn't have parents, or they weren't around enough. Which sounds right, because I know there's been a few shootings where the shooter was able to get their parents gun.

I didn't know much of the details about how he got the gun, but that is weird. No one should own a gun if they don't keep their guns locked up or away from children. His father should get some kind of negligence charge or something.

No, they need to profile white boys like they do Black one's.
Randomly stop and frisk them, pull them over if they are within 100 yards of a gun store.
Stop and search any white boy with camo, confederate flags, in a truck, listening to bon Jovi, chew tobacco, Bill of their cap extremely curved 🧢, wearing hunters orange, patches on the elbows of their flannel shirts.. Ect...

People always talk about guns being the issue when it comes to school shootings. How about we address the real issue here that these kids are being raised to think this kind of behavior is appropriate? Why are so many kids in this mindset and what is happening at home? Kids don't just grow up thinking guns are a solution to life's problems. That mindset and feeling came from somewhere.

The amount of illegal drugs and weapons they would find would be through the roof.
