Asexual relationships

I know that there are some people out there who only date asexual people, or people who just don't care for sex. I of course need sex in a relationship, but I know there are people out there who don't really care for it. Could you live an asexual lifestyle? Do you know anyone who has been in a relationship where no sex is involved, or someone was asexual?

I'm all for people living their lives though, so no judgement to those who may be asexual. If it's not your thing, so be it.

personally I've never known anyone like that, but being married for a few decades...you tend to not think about it as much. I love sex/making love to my wife, but sometimes i just don't think about it and when you don't time almost fly's by. "Damn it's been over a month"! before you realize it .lol

I will be real with you, I don't need sex to be happy. I don't not like it but I can live without it. Maybe that is just cause I have matured and reached a point in my life where I value things differently. I am not sure. I don't know anyone who chooses this kind of relationship though where there is no sex because they don't enjoy it. Most people do enjoy sex, some just prioritize their own carnal pleasures more than others.

Its cool to have ALONE time but ... 5. Others - Adults require connection (physical or emotional) with other humans to release certain hormones like oxytocin. Human touch is so important that when we are young, our brains don’t develop correctly without it. Regular connection to others allows us to maintain a sense of well-being that allows for self-care.

I force my daughter to go outside everyday even if shes not at school. Yea its cool if your a guy "in the lab" alot. But I still leave my lab and drag one back to the cave by her hair, lol. With this "covid culture" it has been an extreme push for people to be alone. Plants reproduce asexually but we aint plants. Let the world enjoy your presence sometimes.Thats all im saying. And everything isnt always about sex.

Yeah i figure sex becomes less important as we get older. I mean, I enjoy sex, but it's not like it's something I need all the time. I can go a while without it.

Same. I don't understand how either. I think most people want that connection still. I think asexual people still want love, just maybe not sex. I'd still need sex, but I could handle going a while without it.

I agree. We enjoy life better with others. And I'm glad you push your daughter to go outside everyday. Kids and teens need to get out of the house more and experience life. So many of them are stuck on their phones rotting their brains away or gaming far too long. No one wants to go out and experience what life is about anymore.

I wouldn't doubt asexuals do some stuff.

We are for sure oversexualized as a society. Everyone and their moms are making onlyfans accounts these days, sex is everywhere.

I like to think there is some kind of emotional/mental trauma or some hormonal issue with people that are asexual. Especially for those who are under the age of 40. A sex drive is something that should be present in some capacity.
