HOWEVER, we have to be able to talk and not demonize pedophilia because we wont be able to treat people who have those emotions. So there’s a balancing act where we have to be able to talk about it without trying to normalize it.

He was and has been in prison since the incident but not for my daughter. I personally took my baby to the authorities and filed charges. I had to listen to her testimony too.

The general public is not about to change the language to make them feel better.

It's difficult for me to view it as a disease and they are victims. But that's what I feel individuals who support this are asking for.

The only reason that someone knows outside a therapist is if the person does something to get charged as a sex offender.

It's apart of this sexually fluid trend. But minors imo are not to be lusted over in any way.

But I will say this. Humans historically in the past were sexually activity as soon as the female had her period ( in some cultures)

Years ago, I was in the mental health field. My doc told me that if a guy is masturbating while watching the playground, he's fixable. Once a man touches a kid you will have to put a bullet in him. He stated that their brains will now be dependent on that particular dopamine high.

I feel your point and it's a slippery slope.

I think that going to a therapist and handling it there is better than trying to change the language as you have stated. But I do think we need to capture the state where they have the thought but don't act and we need to be able to direct them to help.

If we just group them in with offenders and throw them away then they will progress to the stage of touching.

See this is what I think we need to be able to discuss.

The person that is masturbating while looking at the playground should not be grouped in the same category as the person touching kids because IMO they will be less likely to seek treatment.

We need to look at it as sexual deviancy and treat it as such. But when they actually touch kids...I know what I would do if someone touched my son.

It would be nothing nice. They'd find them in an alligator somewhere in Florida.
