So I think at least part of the answer to how old black people think about politics is this....
They are computer illiterate. Lots of them especially in rural areas don't have access to or know how to use the internet. Thus they don't have access to information.
My experience with my dad was there was so much he didn't know about how corrupt politicians were due to that his only information came from CNN(Caucasian News Network) and MSNBC (Mzungu Sellout News By Caucasians).
The good thing is my dad and mom raised me well and to be intelligent. So they trust me. He is open to me giving him information and doesn't just write off that information as conspiracy theory or think I'm Republican.
He actually listens and updates his thinking based on the information. It's almost like I'm giving him the news.
And for me that's okay, better me giving him correct information than to let him trust (Mzungu Sellout News By Caucasians) and ( Caucasian News Network).
He was excited about KBJ until I told him about her rulings against black people in discrimination lawsuits. He'd never heard this information. And if not for me telling him he never would have.
