Curious if anyone has ever tried anything like this. My dad's friend's wife started one. A family member had passed away and instead of selling the house, she wanted to keep it and fix it up to rent out but as an airbnb spot. She started hosting earlier this year and she is making BANK from it! The house is nothing special but for people who don't want to stay in a hotel who come to this area, it is a better option.

I was looking at other people's listings in the area and I was blown away. This one woman charges something like $1,100 for FOUR DAYS. And she is fully booked from May to August. That is insane!

Anyone here ever do this kind of business or consider it?

My bud has a cool layout in his house that allows him to do this easily and he makes good money. Basically the back part of his house has a separate entry, bedroom, bathroom, and it's blocked off from the rest of the house. So he rents it out on AirBnb and the guests never have to interact with him or his family. It's the perfect set up and it is super cozy. Much better than any hotel room I've been in.

I know someone who has a guest house separate from their main place. They rent (from family) and never use the space so I was telling them they should see if they can manage it for extra money. I heard of people only offering weekend stays as well.
