I have made great friends on Facebook. Some, I have never met and may never meet but you know what? We do business together.
I got my first job through a friend I met on social media.

My 1st endorsement deal was gotten from a follower on Instagram.
On my birthday last year, some followers on Facebook sent me cash gifts and surprise birthday cakes delivered to my doorstep.

I can boldly say Social media has affected me positively.

It has had some benefits by linking with old friends but it has killed my attention span. Any second of downtime im on my phone seeing if I received any new notifications.

You are very right. I forgot to add that social media made it possible to reconnect with my childhood friends.

That was huge for me. But them after the nostalgia wore off I realized why I stopped hanging out with them. ‘

I was able to keep in touch with friends and family when I would have not been otherwise able to due to schedules and time differences. I was also able to meet (virtually) a lot of cool people who shared interests with me.

The downside is all the toxic baggage that comes with it. People love to spread their misery around. Then you have issues with censorship and people with bad ideas forming hate groups.

It could say it goes both ways but the positive influence out weighs the negative as I got a lot of brilliant investment ideas from a social media group I joined sometime in 2020 and I haven't regretted it ever since.

Even if lots of people use social medias for chit chat stuffs, I don't, because I have no such time for that. I am a writer, and a crypto influencer, I try my best using social media sites like, Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Telegram, promoting what I'm used to in order to drive targeted users to my employers.

Social media has affected me both ways. I've lost money to scammers on social media based on the trust that I've got for the business proposals that they presented to me. I've also made a couple of friends on social media. Friends that I call family now. I stay on any social media network with a blank mind that I can meet good or bad people.

About my time, I've learnt to schedule when to be on any of those social media networks to avoid being unnecessary distracted.

Yes generalizations are bad but it's something that Asians do to Blk people all day long. Moreover, it's wayyy more than a few Asians who are AntiBlk racists many are that's a fact and it's dishonest of you to not admit that truth. Being an introvert, I have spent most of my time on different social media sites and I'm still joining more because it's one of spaces that I find it very easy to express myself more without having my personality limit me. I have even managed to get a job online as a customer service representative where I work online answering customers questions and getting their feedback. I don't have a problem with you being Asian I have a problem with your suggestions. I have a problem with your not understanding that what you say here is offensive just like implying that I am "racist" because I question your rational and your motivation especially in this space for BLK PEOPLE. You clearly don't understand Blk people (which is understandable because you aren't Blk) our why you are not entitled to be speaking on us our issues especially in this space. That's very correct and I can very attest to my own experience of being racially abused on Twitter at one time. You can see it in the football world as well especially when a black player made a mistake that cost their team the match, fans would jump on Twitter to roast him alive with all manner of racist attacks. It's so sad!!

Yup. I have seen it too. Sports fans can be nasty. I see some of the worst with soccer fans in the UK. They are quick to start dropping n bombs when their star player makes one mistake. I know they were called out for it but I doubt many people got banned from it on Twitter. I think one of the players even posted about it.
