It's really sad to see this pioneer of Hip Hop go out like this, I think Melle Mel is the only one still active out of the group.
It's really painful to see this talent, Kidd, being sentenced to a lengthy jail term. I honestly wish that the time behind bars can be channeled into making more music for his fans anyways.
This is quite unfortunate, but violence doesn't need to be celebrated though he deserved the punishment he is receiving cos he should have valued the life of the victim and find a more peaceful way the settle their scores.
Kidd said he didn't do it. There is surveillance footage of the victim walking around after he encountered Kidd on his way to work.
It sounds like NYPD failed to investigate and decided Kidd was going down for it regardless.
Easy way to get a murder off the board.
What this is is what hurt so many of us in the justice system-lack of adequate legal representation.
Just having a lawyer is not a win. If you've ever had a public defender, you know that .
Even if the lawyer is expensive, they'll kick their feet up, throw the case and still make a bundle.
Robert Shapiro was more than ready to send OJ up the river. Had he not hired Johnnie, OJ would be rotting right now.
Same with the lawyer who had Nas paying Kelis $50K A MONTH in child support.
