I am wondering if anyone here has this issue. I have a few family members that are refusing to see Biden as a bad president. They think he is doing better than Trump and one of them even said "Better than Obama" and I about damn near lost my mind!

They are ignoring what he did with the baby formula, with the illegals, with sending all our money to Ukraine, the gas prices hiking, food shortages, record-high unemployment like we have never seen before, and the list goes on and on.

How come people want to be blind to this? I don't care if you voted for him, you can admit it and say you made a bad choice. It isn't the end of the world but these people can't lose. If they say Biden sucks ass as a president, then they feel like they are admitted they made a mistake and they can't do that. It frustrates me that people want to act like children in grown adult bodies. If you can't research, don't vote! At the very least acknowledge that this old white piece of crap is ruining the country and it is damaging the lives of black Americans the most!!

Talking to most people about politics is an exercise in futility.
First of all, most people are not politically astute.
What you get is people arguing their feelings and parroting things they've heard without having verified the information.
You can see this at work when comedians go out and talk to Trump supporters to expose their ignorance.
Even if your information is factual and logical, people will fall back on cognitive dissonance and disregard facts and logic.
If someone disregards facts and logic, then it's not worth the effort.
This is where the John Henrik Clarke quote comes from - "I debate my equals, all others I teach."

Fair points. I guess you can't really argue with someone who is based in their feelings and emotions cause everything you can say to them be it factual or not feels like a personal attack to them.

Most people still think of the POTUS as a king-like figure who waves his hands and says, "Make it so!"
So even though we all had the same civics or government classes in HS, we have this alarming lack of knowledge among voting eligible adults about what government is and how it works.
Most people cant even name the three branches of federal government and they want to get up on a soapbox.
Then when you listen to what they think is happening, it sounds like an episode of Dragon Ball Z.
We've gotta deal with that first before we can get into differing political ideologies.

So for those reasons, I choose who I speak to about certain topics wisely.
On the other hand, if they have questions and are trying to get a better understanding of what's going on, then I'm more than willing to help.

You cannot talk to them, it's like trying to convince a Christian that Jesus is fake. IMPOSSIBLE.

Smart approach. It can be hard though when you have family gatherings and the topics get brought up and people just start arguing. You say one thing and then you are the enemy. The president to me is nothing but a puppet. It is the people surrounding the president you have to worry about. The fact that Biden who has SEVERE cognitive decline is still the sitting president proved this to me. People do view him as some sort of king though, any sitting president for either side, and it just ain't healthy. You completely misunderstand the way the government works when you view things through this lens.

Bruh most people see their boss at work as king let alone the CEO. Some people you have to lead by making yourself their king and leading them into battle.

There are some people that we just aren't going to reach. Not everybody is going to be saved in this war.

Coming from an 🪖 Army Veteran , there going to be casualties in any war. Those who are still so lost that they support the Democratic party in any form or fashion unfortunately are just going to end up being casualties here.

The one thing I learned since joining this site is to not focus energy on those who can't be saved. Put your energy and focus into teaching and learning the youth and those willing to listen. Those are the ones that can be saved!

I don't talk about these politicians around my family, unless it's my mother and big brother. I can with some other family members that aren't Bidensexuals.
That is a great term for it. Both sides hate us and pretending like some old fart who is half out his damn mind is even thinking of us is beyond stupid. More people need to wake the f up.

One thing that I have discovered in my life is that it's usually a waste of time trying to change another man's mindset on what they believe in. You're only going to get yourself so worked up and still in the end, you will definitely not succeed. You would simply waste your time for nothing. I don't care if it's a family member, I would simply ignore getting into such discussions with the person.

As long as the family member in question isn't the one feeding me and giving me shelter, I wouldn't care about his or her opinion on Biden. Some people are too blind to a fault and therefore there's no need worrying myself over what they think. They even voted for him, so supporting him till now would simply mean trying to justify their vote.
