Bots are a HUGE problem. I read an article that well over 20 years ago, white supremacists were one of the first to go into the internet heavy because they saw it as a recruitment avenue as well as a way to sway public opinion. They have actual groups who set up computers to spam anything pro black for example. If you look at a lot of comments and click on the person, there isnt much. Also they do a lot of fake black avatars, they front like they are black.
I also now realize the music industry is far, far more rigged than I ever thought it was. Lil Nas X video had (when I heard about it at that time) 69 million views. Not the Old Town Road song but the video where he was moist AF.
I am like who the eff is buying his shit? You see the comments and they are all fairly similar. Also, who the eff is buying his music. Gay people aren't homogeneous. They like all kinds of music. There simply aren't enough gay people intersted in him to have his album go up so high. Also, in hip hop its known that white people rarely ever support any rapper who is not accepted, co-signed, by black masses. So, who the hell is paying itunes, etc, for his shit? Damn near no one. The record company and others have a vested interest to 'prove' an openly gay rapper is viable so they paid all kinds of companies wtih sophiticated bots to to buy his shit, comment and all that. I am 100% convinced.
