The demand for Texans to be allowed to vote on the issue in 2023 was one of many measures adopted in the Texas GOP's party platform following last week's state convention in Houston.

Under a section titled "State Sovereignty," the platform states: "Pursuant to Article 1, Section 1, of the Texas Constitution, the federal government has impaired our right of local self-government. Therefore, federally mandated legislation that infringes upon the 10th Amendment rights of Texas should be ignored, opposed, refused, and nullified.

"Texas retains the right to secede from the United States, and the Texas Legislature should be called upon to pass a referendum consistent thereto."

The Texas GOP's new party platform also called for full repeal of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

The former Confederates are trying to divide themselves from the Union once again. Florida and other states will follow suit. Civil War II coming near you.

If they secede I hope they know Mexico is going to take them back. Those cartels are going to be giving Texas hell and use the state as the jump off point to get drugs into the USA. Texas is a very arrogant state and it doesn’t know what it is signing up for in an ask like this.

Yep. This country is bout to be judged by Yah. The battle really isn't ours. We need to learn how to fight these descendants of fallen angels, principalities.

It's the equivalent of a welfare state, they have a nerve. All those military bases keeping it afloat and the fed money they get to fight and support illegal entrants...they are crazy. It's all for show.

The only way they can secede and not be taken back over by the US military or Mexico is if more states do it. There would have to be at least 10 states that decide on this.

My mom is convinced that were are going to have to go through some sort of peaceful divorce. A lot of states are going to break off cause the crap they are pushing is too far gone. Like we have people in this country who scream and shout they love killing babies, we have grown-ass adults grooming children, doctors and scientists going against health and science to push hormone therapy and surgery on children and young adults... the government is filled with snakes and no one trusts anyone.
