Does anyone have a Ring Doorbell or anything similar? I keep saying I'm going to get one but I've been putting it off. If you have one, was it easy to set up and do you feel like it was worth the price?

It’s convenient but do you really want the Ring company seeing everyone who walks up to your door and knowing who it’s paging within the house to open the door. It’s dope but the security is atrocious.

We opted to keep our own recordings on a separate cloud company Jay. I didn't want their service since they are friendly with police.
I had one before and it is very easy to set up but make sure you mount it properly. If you use double-sided tape it may fall due to the humidity you got over there in the swamp. I ripped my out when I found out about this:
I have a EufySecurity doorbell. I like it much better than Ring because all footage is kept on my harddrive or cloud, and Eufy doesn't have access to it.
Setup was super easy, and the camera is crystal clear. The only downside is that since I didn't hardwire mine, I have to remove it about 3 times per year to charge it over night.

I have the Nest doorbell. If you get a lot of packages and are concerned about people shopping of your doorstep in your neighborhood. You almost have to have one.
It’s not a big deal at all in my neighborhood, but I order a lot of expensive stuff. I like knowing when I have a package so I can get it off the porch. I used to have the Amazon Key, but they’ve stopped dropping off in the garage during Covid.

1. Over 85% of the items in most of our homes are made in China, even if it has a "made in USA" label.
2. Yes, the system comes with documentation. I've owned mine for over 2 years, and I've never needed tech support.
I do, I have 4 of their camers, one doorbell and 3 stick up cams. I don't get much company so when it goes off I know it has to be one of a handful of people.
I've caught a few people trying to take stuff off my porch, if I didn't have these cameras I'd have never known.
I'm also a home body, I don't go out much...

If you want some kind of security setup, do it yourself. Have it be stored on your own cloud system or saved to a personal PC. You don't want a company like this to have video footage on you. The way things are heading, I know I won't be feeding the tech overlords any more information than I have to! lol
the only thing I wont do is put cameras in my house.. although just about everything already has a camera in it or on it, some you cant even see...
You're not stating anything I was not aware of, I stated "bootleg" as in low-grade which is prominent out of China. They make premium products but downright junk as well.

My dad uses Wyze and he likes it. The cloud saving is part of a premium package that he opted out of. So it'll record 12 seconds of footage if motion or sound is detected and that stays stored on the app until you delete it or stored on a microSD if you use that instead.
