Sista it stormed really hard last night and I was surprised the power didn't go out then. Nini and my Granny let me look into units 7Kw to 10Kw and this GE has the best customer service and I love the weekly test that it runs itself. Service it 1 time a year to change the oil and new spark plugs. Stay away from Generac, Crappy service and sub par coils that cause it not to deliver power to some big appliances.
We are using 100% Natural Gas with our unit. Before they installed it they took Diesel tank off but that was a 10 Gallon tank that it came with Brother Jay.
You have the Generac? How is YOUR customer service so far? That tank was the right choice, they do not allow those tanks in our subdivision so we are tapped into the gas line. That is one of the worries I have if the supply is cut.
We used an authorized Generac dealer for site selection, installation, and maintenance. It’s only been a year and I haven’t had any major issues that would require me to go back to the dealer. I’m particular about service and when dealing with the dealer they were very patient and answered all my questions. We change the site location twice because my wife hates the look of the propane tank. She wanted us to go with the recommended minimum of 250 gallons so it takes up less space and requires a smaller concrete pour. I wasn’t having it, I told her she would like the looks of that muthafucka when the lights go out.
Propane is a smart bet in this environment. My biggest concern has always been…when I run my tank dry during the apocalypse where TF am I going to get more?
No. Burning NG or Diesel it still cranks out 11,500 watts. My main concern was it had to be able to run the HVAC, Deep freezer, Stove and the refrigerator. We haven't maxed out and thats pleasing.
But does any other fuel types last longer whether an hour longer or is that irrelevant?
Thank you for the info! Since I am working from home, I really need to have a backup power source. I have been trying to compare brands. I didn't realize how bad Generac is. I am going to have to check out GE.
Winter approaches, gotta have a generator or at least the lanterns that hold those huge batteries. They last for hours & hours, one in every room. What we used back in the day & those huge candles are good too! Good to have them ALL! The government & the space travelers both have EMP capabilities. 🤔
