It won’t, they’ll be lucky if they beat XBOX One’s numbers. I think we are going to see declines from here on out with XBOX consoles. Microsoft is driving the brand into the dirt. They had the juice after XBOX 360 and ruined it all in one press conference.I'm not sure if Xbox Series X/S would be able to beat that 85 million sales record set by Xbox 360. It might get to that level close range but it's most likely not going to beat it. Why is that? I believe that the pull Playstation 5 is making in the console market will affect Xbox Series X/S in a huge way.
But it was also their first outing so 24M units sold is solid. To me, what’s ultra sad is the huge decline from 360 to the One. They built up all that good will with their first two consoles, lost J. Allied and Robbie Bach, and the Microsoft borg took over to shit all over the fans. It’s kind of depressing seeing how little the original Xbox sold. Out of the three consoles during the sixth generation of gaming, it was the most powerful one. (Yet it did compete against the greatest selling console of all time, the PS2…) It’s very interesting seeing these numbers, especially seeing how well the 360 sold. I remember originally wanting a PS3 in 2010 but having to settle with the 360 since none of my local retailers had PS3s in stock. I don’t regret getting a 360, I enjoyed it.
How so?Really, the Series X/S is part of the One line in my book.
But still, the 360 was a BEAST. That is still my favorite console and I now own a Series S.
How so to which? The 360 comments or the Series X comment? How so?
About the Series X applying to the One console. How so to which? The 360 comments or the Series X comment?
I am assuming you are talking about the Series X. I keep getting them confused LOL I was thinking of the Xbox One S, not the standard one that came out in 2013 but the reboot that came out in 2016. The Series X will read and run games better, obviously with updated software but outside of that the digital ones are the same to me. I was debating between the two and ended up spending the extra $100 to get a new Series X because it was rated better for newer games like Apex. I guess the One S had trouble with this game and some other ones.
Yeah, I answered that. I meant the Xbox One S and the Series S (digital) are the same to me based on everything I read. The newer one (Series S) just runs and performs better.About the Series X applying to the One console.
What do you mean they are the same?Yeah, I answered that. I meant the Xbox One S and the Series S (digital) are the same to me based on everything I read. The newer one (Series S) just runs and performs better.
You ain’t lying the 360 was the shit. It was the first console that had straight up OS updates. When it went from the blades to the new interface I was blown away. There was so much value to be had with the 360.The Xbox 360 was a beast . I had so many memorable moments playing NBA2K on that system.
I am saying the Xbox One S and the Xbox Series S... Not the X. That is obviously way better than both! I wasn't comparing that one and saying it was the same. Just the digital version. What do you mean they are the same?
Last Generation
XBOX One S
XBOX One X
This Generation
XBOX Series S <---lower end hardware
XBOX Series X <---high end hardware
The XBOX One X and XBOX Series S are close in performance but the Series X blows them all out of the water. Too bad all you can play is Sea of Thieves.
You’re saying two different generations are the same?I am saying the Xbox One S and the Xbox Series S... Not the X. That is obviously way better than both! I wasn't comparing that one and saying it was the same. Just the digital version.
No just the Xbox One S and the Xbox Series S... I mean I was comparing the two digital versions and they are about the same but the newer one runs games better. I was looking at both cause I was considering one or the other but went with the Series S cause some newer games don't perform as well on the One S.You’re saying two different generations are the same?
It was also my favorite Xbox console. I am beginning to think that releasing the Xbox Series X and S got a lot of gamers confused on which one to buy. They should have kept on with using a single number for most of their consoles. Also, do we blame the drop in sales on covid?Really, the Series X/S is part of the One line in my book.
But still, the 360 was a BEAST. That is still my favorite console and I now own a Series S.
Production took a massive hit because of covid. I mean there were shortages for months and it happened 2 or 3 times. So yeah, I think the sales took a hit from that. Also, I think there are more people who are interested in mobile and handheld gaming now than there was back then so the Switch and app games eat up some of the market. It was also my favorite Xbox console. I still have my Xbox 360 and I'm never letting it go. The Series X is quite impressive too. I wouldn't say much about the S Series. Most of guys declined buying the S Series, saying that it's not worth it.The Xbox 360 was a beast . I had so many memorable moments playing NBA2K on that system.
In my opinion, I believe that why Microsoft had to develop and release Xbox Series X/S at once would be to bring competition to Sony's Playstation 5. The COVID did affected everything both Xbox and PS5!!It was also my favorite Xbox console.
