This is absolutely outrageous! If this had happened to a white girl she'd be exonerated and all charges dropped. How many incidences of white people committing indictable offences getting off scott free and judges valuing the future of young white killers above application of the law?! But whenever the victim is a black person compassion is never applied.

This young girl should not even be charged because she was unarguably a vulnerable victim with extenuating circumstances. I'm so sick of this two tiered black n white injustice system! 😡

Forgot to mention why is she having to compensate her rapist's family -insult to injury! Meanwhile you have untold influx of illegal immigrants into the country with all manner of immunity from criminality and are further gifted with ineligible financial benefits thanx to JCJ's Administration but compassion can't be shown to this young black victim of multiple rape and forced sex trafficking!!

Absolutely! It's maddening as hell because it smacks of overt racism. I wouldn't pay them a cent because she already has jail time. When you compare it with killer Kyle Rottenhouse who has now achieved notoriety and expressed no remorse for his crimes and Bill Cosby having to pay those past their sell by date hoes for fabricating non crimes against him it clearly exposes a two tiered injustice system.

Sort of like how non-Black Jose Alba of NY was able to get away with stabbing a Black man to death in a bodega after people rallied and claimed that it was "self-defense." There are laws for whites, laws for non-white non-Blacks, and laws for Black people.

The fact that she was just 15 when this happened speaks volumes to me. Iowa is so backwards it's messed up. It sounds like this was more to do with the laws on the books than anything.

I get that at some point it stops being self defense and becomes murder, but most people in said situation, if they were given the opportunity to fight back, they would and they probably wouldn't stop. I know if I was raped by someone, I would want blood. I think it's justified if something like that happens.

As well, when you're in such a situation, you're not going to think clearly, you're judgement will be clouded, so that in itself should be a defense. This woman deserves a much better defense team.
