My first answer is Game of Thrones which got considerably worse with each season. lol To the point that I don't care about any spinoff they do.

Other than that, I would have to say The Walking Dead, I liked it at first, but they lost me several seasons ago. Same with West World.
Walking dead fell off real bad shit was unwatchable around season 7. I don’t even know how the joint still went on without Rick Grimes.

Game of Thrones for sure and it was because they basically ran out of source material. Plus the writer of the books was just coming up with the most asinine situations and trapped everyone in a box. At one point:
  • Lady Stoneheart - what the fuck is that explanation going to be.
  • Famine - the 7 Kingdoms are ravaged by famine and Winter is coming as well as big armies and Dany's forces.
  • Targareyens - Aegon and no not the Aegon that knows nothing. He has a huge force in Westeros already
  • Stannis - Stannis still lives will a full army.
  • The Northern Plot - the northern Lords and Stannis look set to crush Ramsey who apparently has Mance and his spearwives, enjoy explaining that GRRM. Sansa is in the Vale with no need to go North.
  • Wargs, Prophecies, bastards, Dorne still relevant, Cersei and Jamie on the rocks, siege of Mereen and many more.
Not much to work with.

Wow. i was not expecting GOT to be the first culprit. rocked me.

"THE WALKING DEAD"
definitely suits this thread. the first 2 to 3 seasons were amazing and it just got progressively worse until it became unwatchable.

"LOST"
would be the most egregious example imo.
that was a brilliant show that was derailed by the writer strike and also became unwatchable.

now......i need an explanation as to how GOT went off the rails. what season did it veer off for you and why?

Bruuuuuh Walking Dead had such an epic fall off. I think it got bad around the season after they ran into Negan. There were so many slow episodes, they would draw out story lines, there started being illogical stuff going on and the CGI was atrocious. I don't remember it fully but I know after Negan took the bat to dudes head the season afterwards I was making this face a lot:

For sure Game of Thrones. The first 4 or 5 seasons were fantastic, and then it started to go down from there. I second The Walking Dead, but I couldn't get past season 2 or 3. It just got so boring.

    Others I would add:

    The Black List
Law and Order (all of them)
    Scrubs
    Lost
The Office (even though I like the final episodes)

I think it was due to them reaching the end of the current books, and they had to create the rest on their own. George R.R. Martin gave them some ideas of what the future of the books would be, but it didn't turn out well. I think it was around season 5 when they ran out of book. George R. R. Martin still has to finish like two books yet, and he is taking his sweet old time doing it.

They produced the last seasons quite well, they looked great, but man was a lot of the final seasons just dumb. Also that season finale was a joke lol. I hated it so much.

i will admit season 5 was very slow....and dark. too dark.
but the ending was genius imo
no one saw that coming at all.

i figured jon snow would be too obvious. and the dragon chick is dead.
    so...i was thinking maybe arya
and when the finale hit. it all hit me at once and i thought that makes so much sense.

to be honest as long as it wasnt the denaryas bitch i was fine with whoever.
    couldnt stand her.

ALSO, im gonna need you to slowly remove the office from that list and back away even more slowly.

Duuuude you ain’t lying. It felt like the show was trying to live up to its reputation rather than pushing the narrative along. I watched all the way up to Tiger Nigga and quit.

i stopped watching after season 3. way before that.
the only reason why i had a slight idea of what was going on cuz my girl at the time was obsessed.

they should have never killed SHANE. (i think that was his name.)
he was the perfect balance to the sheriff lead.

The Walking Dead, Simpsons, Family Guy, and Shameless to name a few. Some shows have bad seasons and bounce back but I feel like the ones I mentioned, there is no return from the bad.

I don't know about Game of Thrones. I never watched it and I am glad I didn't based on the reviews. Shame that show got ruined. I heard they are doing some kind of spinoff for it though.
