I think they are trying to keep us in a certain mindset. The majority can't focus on progressing because they keep looping us back to slavery. Also, looping us back to slavery doesn't allow exploration of our history before enslavement. It would be different if it was a documentary or a dramatization of a specific place or event, but it's the same stories pushed to us with different actors, etc. You'd think people would be tired of it.

To the other point brought up in the thread. We aren't under chattel slavery any more, but most are definitely mentally enslaved. However, I wouldn't dare compare what I'm going through to what my ancestors went through.

They use DARVO tactics and do everything to shame, guilt, intimidate, and threaten us Black people into silence whenever we rightfully shame and call out them and their evil, despicable ancestors for the enslavement of our ancestors and the ongoing oppressive anti-Black racist regime.

They do everything to change or water down the topic under the guise of "moving on, getting along, working together, keeping the peace, and moving forward", downplay and romanticize the barbarism of white society and chattel slavery, minimize the contributions and sacrifices of our enslaved ancestors, and talk about how irrelevant and long ago American chattel slavery was. Yet, they want us hyper focus on the "good" of the white evildoers (this includes the depraved colonizers known as the "Founding Fathers"), the "good" of slavery, the "good ole days", the "good" in Reagan, and to celebrate genocidal racists and whitewashed history of lies?

If the past was really the past and we should get over it, then what is the point of historians, researchers, museums, Nazi memorabilia, WW2 memorabilla, learning about the Holocaust, learning history, that Jan 6th insurrection, postcards of Black people being lynched with smiling white demons surrounding their dead stiff bodies like they caught a great white shark, keeping and passing down old Klan robes and whips to white progeny, bringing up something that happened 5 minutes ago, etc? These whites leech off the Black blood, meat, energy, forced labor and sacrifices of our tormented, enslaved ancestors while spitting out their delicate bones like yesterday's garbage. The callous caucasity reveals the lack of humanity of these demons in human flesh.

They truly want us to forget about the horrors of slavery and adopt a dangerous Eurocentric form of thinking so that we can "stop rioting and being so woke" by becoming docile and receptive enough for them to repeat it again (and bring back slavery in a modern form) and commit genocide against us with zero pushback. They want us to submit to them and accept them as God and our abusive and flawed "White Savior."

We as people think we are free

Pure freedom is a mere illusion for the majority of the planet. There's loose confinement ("freedom" and "liberty") and then there's real confinement (prison, captivity, slavery, concentration camps). Some just have more power, rank, love and privileges than the others.
