Have you ever changed the mind of a racist person? I have never been able to change the mind of a racist person, but I have had spats with some in the past. Usually the white guys who are into hunting and wearing flannel lol.

I know there are some people who were once racists, but changed their views after finally realizing how stupid they were. Have you ever had success with changing a racists mind? If so, how did it go?

Nope, fuck racist people. There's too much evidence that is too accessible for someone to be racist due pure ignorance. To most, it's a choice and it is emotional so you'll sit there arguing circles with them about shit. Convos typically go:

Me: Past acts lead to our present plight.

Racist: We'll never heal as a country if you can't let the past go, you're dividing us.

Nope. Being mixed, there are some in my distant family that I don't think ever truly got over my parents being together. I agree with @Boss Hog, there's too much evidence that's accessible so being racist is a choice.

I never tried and if I did, I wouldn't know about it. I have had some passive interactions with some. I just rise above and smile at them. I had one older woman come into the clinic and asked for a different nurse. I know she meant one that wasn't black. I told her we are short-staffed and I will make sure she is cared for. She mumbled a few things but I was kind to her and did my job. It is bad enough these people believe they are in the right, I am not going to hand them ammo for the gun and get fired over them.

I used to argue with the and try to convince them but about two years ago I realized that I was fighting a losing battle. Arguing with a racist is like trying to convince a big hat wearing church mammy that Jesus isn’t real. You will end the conversation holding the same beliefs you did when you started no matter how compelling the evidence.

The only way I changed a racist mind was having them go from thinking I'm the nigga to mess with to knowing I'm not the nigga to mess with.

I usually view racism as something taught, and in a way can be changed. Would I try to change a racists mind though? No, I probably wouldn't bother to try, that's for them to learn on their own and fix. We shouldn't have to try to change someone or anyone for that matter. They should know better and change the error in their own ways.

Racists can change, but they rarely bother to do so. There's a small amount of them who kinda grow out of it, because I know many of them grow up with racist parents, the ones behind the times pretty much. But, I think school is a big help in changing some. But it's not our responsibility to change them, it's on them to realize how wrong they are. Sometimes that takes a long time, sometimes they never change.

If I ever persuade a white person to change their ways, I honestly wouldn't know, but if so, awesome. One less racist asshole out there.

I had a similar awakening and never turned back. I woke up like "you know what fuck racists period".
