A key point in my spiritual journey was uncovering my childhood vows. The deeper I got into myself, the clearer the rest of the world became. It was really kind of amazing.

The big revelation for me was that every defense mechanism I made actually brought to me the very thing I created the defense mechanism to protect me from. This was groundbreaking LOL. Then I started to recognize the same phenomenon in the world.

White supremacy (for ex.) is nothing more than a collective defense mechanism and it brings to the white collective all the things it was created to defend against. Insecurity, lack, chaos, inadequacy, fear, superiority complex, etc.

So, when I think about Reparations, which is basically the end of white supremacy, and how hard white people fight against or to ignore it, it makes me think about how insane I must be in some area of my life. An entire collective of people is fighting to the death against their own freedom. It's mind blowing.

Makes me wonder what "blessings" am I blocking.

This is a good thread and is why the adage “ignorance is bliss” is so important. You see, within their ignorance IS their freedom. Their whole self-image is rooted in that ignorance so to divorce themselves of it is to rewrite their entire image. They go from thinking they are Luke Skywalker to being Darth Vader and that is frightening to them.

Also the thing about defense mechanisms is that they are kind of a surrendering so to speak. It’s resigning your fate to whatever is troubling you and learning how to cope rather than either extracting the nuggets from the pain and making yourself stronger and/or changing your situation altogether.

We need to look at life as a series of adversities and understand that it is part of this reality. Every adversity is an opportunity to level up and we can’t let those stumbles turn into dysfunction that travels with us from one adversity to the next.

Agreed. That's why they HAVE to be racist. They have to believe Blacks created the poor economic state of black America in a vacuum, completely devoid of any outside influence. They have to deny the consequences of slavery.

I think it hinges on this notion of "good guys" and "bad guys" we unconsciously create in our tribal stages of conscience development. I'm the "good guy" and the "other" is the "bad guy". And like you say, they have to maintain their imagined identity. If there was a such thing as good guys and bad guys, America proves you need to run from the good guys. No one's going be quicker on the trigger than a good guy with a gun.

This idea is actually why I created my audio drama, the Sun on Earth. I wanted to blur the lines. (Shameless plug)

    Gospel. Church. Tabernacle.

Meritocracy being a lie means they are not special and they ain’t ever going to admit that.

You see the same thing with the immigrants. They have to cling to the same delusions in order to protect their self esteem.

But doesn't it bring them riches too which makes the downside acceptable for them?

That's the brilliant part of creation: it doesn't matter how, much they have, they MUST experience lack of the very thing in which they are abundant. It's a rule of the defense mechanism. That's why all these wealthy people keep taking and taking more and more, they are trying to fill a bottomless pit. The defense mechanism against resource insecurity feeds the belief in resource insecurity.

These billionaires out here actually believe the people (government taxes) are bleeding them dry.

You don't necessarily find that it is true by thinking about it, but I'm sure you can intellectually understand it. It's best as experiential knowledge. Know it is true by recognizing you've already been experiencing it. What is true for you is true for everybody else.

Dig into your childhood and find those vows and defense mechanisms (of which there are many, I guarantee it) and notice how they are quietly undermining you TODAY. In the video, the guy even has a worksheet with which to analyze them. It will be time and effort well spent.
