Sad times for chocolate lovers. Dangerous levels of heavy metals were found in dark chocolate from Hershey’s and Trader Joe’s. 🤦🏾♀️ These companies showing their consumers they don’t care about their health and safety.
I can admit I had some Hershey weeks ago, but will not be eating anymore. I don’t eat chocolate all the time. I agree we need to be careful what we put in our bodies. I’m going to start making my own chocolate. I supported a black owned chocolate company two years ago. It was the best chocolate in my opinion. But since I’m trying to cut my intake of certain ingredients, I will just find recipes to suffice.Damn...at least there' one type of dark chocolate without any metals in it. All jokes aside, I love dark chocolate but I had already stopped dealing with those brands. I've decided most things can't be trusted and while some things are unavoidable I try to at least be vigilant about what I put in my body.
I bet it’s because they use natural ingredients. They don’t have all these GMO’s in Europe. At first I thought one of my exes put me on World Star. I'm a Cadbury's fan myself. Surprisingly, the Brits make some pretty good chocolate but you know what? The best chocolate I've ever had wasn't even Swiss, it was in Finland. They must put crack in the recipe.
That’s scary because I get the yellow chocolate package from Trader Joe’s twice a week.Sad times for chocolate lovers. There's a mall in SF that makes gourmet chocolates and I get it from them. It' better than See's chocolate, and some they even bake with champagne or vodka...you can't taste it but it's really good.At first I thought one of my exes put me on World Star. You know what? What if they are releasing some of these "warnings" to the public to discourage us from buying certain foods so that the elite can have the good food all to themselves (such as dark chocolate)? The FDA? You mean the Federal Death Association? Yeah, relaxed is one way of putting it.
Cali is more strict about a lot of things. They have that Proposition 65 warning on everything that can cause cancer. That should be a nationwide thing.
Would not be surprised. How many times they told people eggs were unhealthy when everyone knows that is one of the most complete forms of nutrition we have. Same with meats. Clean meats they want people off of. They want us all eating man-made trash pretendo meats. You know what? During a portion of 2021-2022 they claimed that onions (especially red onions) and other vegetables had salmonella on them. I later found out that red onion soup is supposed to help with COVID-19. Yet they claimed that onions were a "risk."Would not be surprised. How many times they told people eggs were unhealthy when everyone knows that is one of the most complete forms of nutrition we have. The e-coli issues is down to the supply lines and people taking shortcuts that cause safety hazards. That don't just happen on its own. Same with salmonella. A lot of people think this is an issue with eggs, it is not. It is the living conditions of the chickens. So if there is a high salmonella risk on a brand's eggs, that tells you that you need to buy a different brand!During a portion of 2021-2022 they claimed that onions (especially red onions) and other vegetables had salmonella on them. They always have e-coli warnings for vegetables such as romaine lettuce.
As people like to say, "Everything causes cancer."
Eventhough Cali gets a lot of flack for all the rules at least it sometimes is beneficial. Texas would have let this fly and then be acting shocked when people get cancer.A recent study found that dark chocolate from several major chocolate producers contain dangerous levels of lead and cadmium. These are dangerous heavy metals that can cause a variety of health issues. Lead alone can cause developmental delays in children. Long term exposure to cadmium can ultimately lead to death. How can this be possible you ask? FDA regulations are the most relaxed food safety regulations in the developed world. Testing was done under California regulations which are more stringent & similar to EU standards. Heavy metals found in dark chocolate including Trader Joe's and Hershey's
