I've dated a few women who I think weren't really that invested in our relationship. One girl I dated, I swear she dated me to just get back at an ex, and once he came back to her, she broke it off with me. I also dated this another girl who I was really into. We dated for a few months, and then she just broke up with me. Saw her a week later with this dude at a bar and that was it. I get a text from her the same night, apologizing for it, and saying that she really likes me, but she's just seeing what's out there for now. But, we start to text again, and it got sexual pretty fast.

I assumed she was just on a date, but a week later, I go to the same bar again and she's there with the same dude, making out and everything. I realized, she was just keeping me around in case her current relationship didn't work out. The same night, she texts me, asking what I'm up to. I didn't respond. She got a bit annoyed by that, and called me a bitch and that was it.

Has this ever happened to you? Where you're really into someone, and you think they are too, but it turns out to not be the case and they're just stringing you along as a backup boyfriend if her current one doesn't work out.

Oh yes. I was dating this guy who I was really into. We had only been going out for maybe 2 weeks. I like to take things slow and he wasn't having it so he dumped me. A good 6 months go by and he is texting me, asking how I am doing. I told him I was seeing someone else (I wasn't) and I was busy at work and would text him later (I didn't).

A few months go by, and he is texting me again. Like wtf dude. My friend grabbed my phone from me and told him off.

Another year goes by and he is hitting me up again. I come to find out each time he got in touch with me was when something else failed with another woman. Like he was hoping I would change my mind and sleep with him or something after that.

That's what it feels like. They keep you in their phone for whenever they're having a bad time, and then reach out in the hopes of you being a "back-up". That guy sounds like a total douche. You clearly made it known what you wanted, and it's clear he only wants something quick. I would just block the guys number at this point. :D

Another girl I dated, would sometimes call me and say how she missed me asking if I'd take her back. I'd say no, and then days later, she'd call me back saying she found a new man. Like she was throwing it in my face. I didn't much care, but she did it a few times over and it got quite annoying.

Some people can be so petty. It is almost like they get off on being jerks. I used to have a friend who would basically use men to get what she wanted and keep some for backup if she couldn't find anyone new. Glad I am not friends with her anymore. She was so toxic.
