You have control over what you value and what fulfills you. We don’t have to stay on particular tracks of life if we don’t want to. Also there will times where our efforts aren’t valued….that’s a sign that you’re around the wrong people.

I am not sure I am understanding what you are saying. Like you don't think black men are valued enough in life in America to work hard for anything? The way I see it is you work for yourself and your family. The bars are set and life is harder for the average black man in America, no doubt, but being pessimistic over it and giving up, not trying to achieve anything for yourself is just letting WS win.

I went through a time like once for a brief period. My job sucked, life sucked, gained a lot of weight. I changed everything, job, location, etc. I'm NOT saying you should do that but I recognized after the fact for what it was.
