Have you ever had a friend who needed to stay with you for a while? How was that for you? I normally don't allow any friends to stay over. I have allowed friends to stay over for a few days while they got back on their feet. But I always make it apparent that it would be a certain period of time and he/she would have to leave.

But, I have had friends who wanted to stay even longer and I don't like that idea. I would allow some friends to stay for a few days, but I try not to have them stay more than a few days to a week.

How do you deal with friends who won't leave though? Have you ever had a friend who overstayed their welcome?

Depends on if they are responsible or not. If they aren’t then there is no way on earth because they would end up my problem.

It really is predicated on like @Red Velvet said, their level of responsibility. I don't want to move someone in who is going to be unable to get back on their feet. That's a losing battle for me.

Been there, done that. It was messy and I ended up the bad guy.

I agree. I feel like it can get out of hand quickly and you end up losing a friend in the process.

I had a friend creep on me like this. I told him he could stay for two days while on vacation and he tried to stay permanently. I came home off work one day and the nigga ate all my cocoa pebbles and left the box ontop of the fridge. I got home ready to get some and felt the empty box and was pissed. He had to go after, had the nigga bounce. That was a bridge too far for me.

If they are good with cleaning up after themselves and know what boundaries are, sure but the second that line gets crossed, their stuff would be going out the front door. It is a risk either way cause someone might get comfy and start to refuse to leave.
