Solving Problems Of Racism Within The Workplace

Have you noticed any Racist actions or remarks within your Racist Workplace that you wish to talk about? And do you have a Compensatory Code for dealing with or avoiding these situations?

I have had a couple of situations in my retail job where I have scanned the items of White customers and in one particular situation, after scanning a White male customers' items I asked if he wanted a receipt and he said, "No thank you, I don't think that I will get stopped outside the door by police for stealing, do YOU know any police officers?" I didn't respond. I have had other situations where White customers have asked the same type of question and after reading the Compensatory Counter-Racist Code by Mr. Neely Fuller Jr. I found out that there are other ways of responding to racist questions such as saying things like "Hmmm" and "That's interesting" and now I usually respond to Racist questions and answers using those two options and I think those responses are better in attempting to not entertain Suspected Racists by staying quiet or lashing out at them and calling them Racists like I have seen some Non-White people on the Internet do.

After listening to workplace racism on the C.O.W.S, I always make sure I have easy access to the employee handbook to refer to. When speaking with co-workers, I try to put the conversations in the context of the handbook to avoid bad situations.

Interesting. Could you provide a source for a specific C.O.W.S broadcast where the employee handbook is mentioned and explained in detail? Thank you for this constructive information.

There was not one specific broadcast, they said it on a number of different broadcasts. However, I did first hear it was from a 2015 or 2016 broadcast, one of the callers made a suggestion to keep a handbook nearby. Gus also makes regular reference in the Neutralizing Workplace Racism broadcasts to read employee handback for a few minutes per day.

If I find one of the broadcasts I'll post here, but you can look through the archives from 2015.
