Oof what a heck of a way to die! I forgot about this, looks like it's almost been a year since this has happened too! I know competitive eating takes lots of practice, you'd think she would have known when to throw in the towel and just give up before she started choking.
I don't understand why they can't get at least 1 onsite nurse for these events, train all medical and food workers nationwide, and have them learn heimlich maneuver and other things to save choking victims and their lives.

You're right about that, it's something they should have considered having in place to try and help save anyone who starts having such complications.
But why in the world would they have such activities going on? What's its purpose?
