Ants And Termites Create A Gang Truce.
The animal kingdom is fascinating, but some poor homeowner is about to have some serious problems!
We have yet to this level of truce and mutual respect between enough racial and ethnic groups within humanity.
I never had problems with these in my house, thank GOD. The last house I was renting though, it had an apple tree that was not cared for and it had termites in it. They had to cut it down which was a shame.
Those carpenter ants ruined this guys (3 doors down) patio in 3 years. We told him to use pressure treated wood but you know how white ppl dont listen to us blk folk.🤷🏾♂️
Its the common respect they are having for each other that has me at awe. Sister Art? Have you ever seen a battle between those two? It is something else I tell you. My granddaddy first show me down in Alabama, Termites Vs. Red Army ants. It was a GD massacre. Army ants dismember their enemy and carry the body parts down a highway of other Army ants. I could have watched that for hours but the fight only lasted 10 minutes.

I.m sorry Sis I wasn't tryin to gross you out. No disrespect. As a kid I had a super ant farm my granddaddy built out of plexi glass.
Well the carpenter ants and red army ants did battle once then they stayed on their side of the farm. Granddad said they laided down a line of their pheromones and they would not cross that line. But one odd thing they both did, eating each others dead. When a any dies in the nest worker ants (both carpenter and army ants) would carry the dead to that line I told you about and each colony would retrieve their adversaries body. Army ants take the body and rip it to parts then take it into the colony. The carpenter ants send 1 worker to pick on the dead army ant and carries it into the nest where they would then tear it into smaller parts.
And they even store food for a later time. Oh sugar cubes are like cocaine for ants and when they are loaded on that? That is when they dig new tunnels and holding pods. Even tho the army ant is twice as small than the carpenter its sting hurts worse and last for several hours and I think I am allergic since my fingers swelled and look like sausages. He and I use to watch them for hours in that 3'x3' box. Damn I really miss him and my granny. Sis I need to DM you.
