If your not aware,Black people are moving out of NYC in record numbers. This article even speaks on the fact that the energy that Black Americans bring has disappeared in New York City. The vibe is gone. The cost of living coupled with an endless influx of immigrants has made place in the mid-west & in the south major destinations for these ex-New Yorkers. This also sheds light on why New York Hip-Hop is by all means dead. There's no one left to pass the torch to. There's no one left to keep the feeling alive. In a few decades places like Harlem & Bed Stuy will be gone & forgotten. Don't be missed on the fact that there's a Black mayor in NYC watching this occur.

The African American exodus from New York City
While the city’s overall population grows, the number of non-Hispanic Blacks continues to tumble; an epicenter of the change is Bed-Stuy.

What good is a hand few of Black people being economically well-off going to do for Black people as a collective group if they don't own anything and anything can get taken from them at any time as they continue to give away their wealth and assets to others?
If something drastic were to ever happen and they aren't able to rely on Black community because most are too economically deprived to help and the other few who are able to help are selfish (esp. when it comes to other Black people), then they would have to rely on the racist dominant society that will do everything it can to give them little to no resources and to starve them out of existence.
Too many Black people think of Black empowerment as just religious empowerment, community volunteer work (ex: youth outreach programs, basic street cleanup, basic giveaways or basic events), speaking out against "Black on Black crime", living vicariously through successful Black people such as Beyonce and Jay-Z or the Obamas, merely enriching themselves and their own immediate family or their circle of friends (including non-Blacks), and empowering everybody (including non-Blacks).
The only few Black groups who seem to have some sort of code are certain Black immigrants (ex: Nigerians only helping and looking out for other Nigerians) and certain Black churches (ex: regular Black church members prioritizing other regular Black church members over other Black people). But even then, non-Blacks (especially whites or Latinos) don't have to prove themselves that they are worthy to get want they want out of those Black people either.
The community building, mass codification, punishment for off-code behavior and treason, emphasis on the importance of families and maintaining legacy and generational wealth, emphasis on the importance of moving as a unit, emphasis on dating and procreating and marrying within your ethnic group or race, emphasis on community protection, preserving of our cultures and heritage and people, rejection of foreign outsiders and colonizers and other threats, building of economies that we own and control, self-love, and knowing and looking one another across the board is missing.
