This pissed me off. I was looking forward to it, I remember it was supposed to drop in 2020 but didn’t hear anything.

If he owns the rights he should crowd fund it.

Why though? I don't see any reason why they would just pull the plug on it. Do they not know how many fans this show has? I started watching it way back in the day. Are they afraid or something? It almost feels like this is happening because of some sensitive white people crying on Twitter.

Honestly, this is a good thing as why try to bring back old shows why not bring new voices and ideas instead of banking on nostalgia

Most likely because of corporate politics between Sony Pictures and HBO Max
HBO Max probably wanted the to rush the series to please their corporate investors
So Sony went back and fourth with Aaron McGruder and especially because of the Covid-19 pandemic delayed the production, So in short Sony ( who own the rights to Boondocks animated series) and/or HBO Max pulled the plug after not seeing a return in investment

I was looking forward to the reboot, but I'm okay with it being cancelled. Without John Witherspoon, things wouldn't be the same.
