I personally don't use the word. There really isn't time in my day to use it. I don't listen to trash rap. I don't watch many movies.
Saying the N-word is maybe I'll rap an old rap song or I'll make a joke but it's never like part of my daily vocab

Growing up our family didn't use that word, and my wife and children never said that word. It is a word intended to degrade us.

And we've had multiple conversations about this on a podcast in another group. I try not to say it at all, but policing it is borderline impossible because there's always gonna be someone somewhere that lets their friends say it. Fat Joe for example says it with impunity and the most you'd see is a meme referencing it or something.

I watched that video years ago because I'm a huge fan of KRS-ONE, and while I appreciate the etymology lesson, there's a missing context. Those rednecks who called our ancestors n!ggers during lynching parties weren't using the term to mean "royalty".
IMO, the Latin root meaning of the n-word has been washed out by the blood of the men, women, and children who heard that word being yelled at them as they were being raped, mutilated, and murdered.
Nah, there's no love in that word, IMO.

I am an anyone can say whatever they want kind of person. Now SHOULD they say it, hell 4uckin naw. Do I say it? Sometimes, when I get pissed or hyped and amped up about something enough. Is it apart of my daily vocab.....not like it was when I was a youth and I used it more frequently.
