Yep. I could have told them it would fail. Why would somebody want to swap spouses unless they secretly did not want their spouse anymore? Either way, I agree with you that if they want to do it, then they can do it. They are consenting adults.

With my friend's situation?

Well, her and boyfriend were into three-ways early on in their relationship, this was before getting married. They had a few different girls they messed around with. When they got more serious, they both agreed to stop. They ended up getting married and maybe 2 years into the marriage, her husband became bored with her and ended up hooking up with not one, but two of the side chicks and having three-ways without her. She offered to start doing it again to save the marriage and they tried including it. It worked for a few months but he just ended up cheating on her again.
