Do you ever take a day or week off of tech?

Have you ever taken a day or even a week off from using tech? Maybe it's the internet, gaming, watching tv, using your phone too much, etc. Mainly, taking a break from the internet.

I have thought about leaving the tech behind for a week or two, just to see how I feel after leaving it behind for a while. I honestly don't think I can live without my phone and games. I think I would get used to it, but I know the first few days would be tough.

What about you though, ever take a day of week off from using most tech?

No disrespect but how can a person think like this when everything we do is tech related? Internet, credit card, TV, driving, eating...

Unless you were asking if I sit on a dock and read a book all day or go fishing before the sun gets too hot...

Then yes, I read plenty of books on my dock.

that would be hard for me ,but I'm sure it would be beneficial to my brain. I think about the kids that grew up in the tech and digital age I remember a time when cell/smart phones didn't exist, when's the last time you actually heard a busy signal? some of these kids nowadays don't even know what a busy signal is!
yea we as a people, a country could use a break from this stuff.

Essentially a break from it all, no screens, tvs, games, etc. Just a day, week or however long you can handle it away from tech. When I was a kid I didn't have much tech stuff, so it was me finding what I could to play with. But these days I feel locked behind a screen sometimes and just need a break. I wouldn't count stuff like using my credit card, driving, or eatting as a part of it. More so just a break from technology in general.

Most of my work is online as well, so I get how weird it is. But I think it's a good idea to take breaks once in a while. For example, I had a power outage months ago, and didn't know what to do with myself. No tech worked, so I could have taken this opportunity to relax in other ways, like reading a book like you say, or even doing art or something.

Oh it'd be hard for me as well. I'm so used to using my PC and phone that an extended time without them, would bug me a lot. But I think as it goes on, we'd gradually get used to it.

That's what I do on vacations. I'll rarely check my phone and just enjoy some time to relax without staring at a screen. Other than that, it's hard for me to take a break from tech.
My last vacation I was on my phone a lot. Habits are tough to break sometimes. But that's kinda why I want to start taking days or maybe weeks off of tech sometimes. Just to get it out of my system for a while.

There probably will be a manufactured power grid failure in the next few years. It would be best for all of us to develop survival skills without relying on technology.
Could see that happening one day. We'd all eventually get used to not having tech.

Yes, I agree with you. Sometimes I need to take a break for the rat race.

I could, but I don't. I should try it this year. Maybe a few times a month. I did it with MSM news. I used to be a news junkie, I'd have two sometimes 3 stations playing at once . After a while I noticed I was stressing over things I have no control over and it was effecting my sleep, my wife would get sick of me talking about the news all the time and I just said F'it I cant watch this crap any more.
Haven't turned to a news station in over 2 years, and I don't regret it.
