I'm pretty sure I am addicted to my phone. I am on it quite a bit and probably should take a break from using it for a while. Has anyone here tried to take a break from their tech? Like phones, video games, computers, and whatever else you got.

I was thinking about taking a week off from using most tech, aside from anything I use for work. So that means no checking out instagram, facebook, playing video games, watching tv or going on the computer. Maybe instead I would go out on a date, go to dinner, go to a party, hang out with family & friends, etc.

Anyway, have you ever taken time off from tech? How did it go?

I'm not sure if I would be able to drop my smartphone for a full 24 hours. It's not going to happen no matter how much I tried. I might be offline for a few hours, let's say for at least 2-5 hours but never a whole day. I can stay without touching or watching my TV for one month.

I have tried in the past with very little success. It's tough to let go of tech, especially when you use it for just about everything like I do. My phone is on me 24/7. I'm not always on it, but I find myself going to it whenever I am bored.

I started taking Friday nights off at 6PM.
Starting slow like this would probably be best. I don't think I can just stop using tech out of the blue. I think we need to slowly weed it out of our lives much like that.

I couldn't take a break from using technology, unless I took vacation from work and didn't use my phone, computer, or video games during my vacation. I have taken breaks from playing video games in the past, I would spend that time online though.
Bruh these phones are basically an external hard drive for our brains. It’s so hard to detach from them. I remember back in the early 2000s I used to memorize everyone number.

I used to be addicted to my phone. This was before social media blew up. I would get in trouble at work for constantly checking it for a text. I was with a dude who I couldn't trust and he had me paranoid. I broke this behavior as I got older and stopped letting toxic people in my life. I don't use ANY social media apps on my phone. I never let myself even get into the habit of watching stuff. I know if I did, I would get hooked.

Same here. I used to remember everybody's number. Now, I rely on my smart phone. I truly believe these smart phones have made us not use our minds as much.
Yes man the only number I remember now is my mom's. I don't even know people's area codes nowadays.

I had less thing to worry about back then which was why it was easy for me to remember all those numbers. Now, it's only just two numbers that I can remember, my mother's and my own 😂.

I can't stop using my smartphone no matter how I try. I talk every day about how reduce my screen time but see me not doing anything about it.
