I’m not a fan of Fat Joe or Fetty but I must say this was an engaging interview. Discussion points:
- Fetty had 10 mill in album sales but still went broke due to bad contracts and managers
- Fetty discusses the night of his 4 year old daughters death
- Recent RICO indictment
-Depression (he went from being in the hot spot with Drake to nothing, no features
- mental health concerns: talks about being in a real dark space when the fame and money is no longer there along with the people he lost. How he feels like he has to front and put on a facade to fight his inner demons
-Lost his eyesight as a child (reason for eye condition)
- having to pay for his own tours, marketing out of his pocket despite being a double platinum artist

Really sad interview but gems were dropped. Basically Fetty Wap seems a lot more humble and personable. Personally, I think if Fetty would have been more in touch with himself like he is in this interview - he wouldn’t be seen as a one hit wonder gimmicky type rapper. Because clearly he is very articulate and thoughtful.

Sidebar- The Drake curse in full effect it seems, puffy passed the torch. Any artist doing one offs with Drake seems to turn their career into sh-t.

This is text book example of what happens when yo biz aint straight. I rememebr that nigga got busted for racing and drunk off his ass in BK and that shit aint teach that nigga a lesson.

A lot of rappers get into biz but dont wanna be business men and they pay the price. This nigga talkin all this trap house shit but he must have been the worst trap nigga cuz he sure dont watch over his paper.

BG had the same shit happen to him he was cracked out and drunk all the time and when he finally sobered up for a few minutes he realized baby was tappin his pockets and supplyin him with dope so that he stay sleep.

We may say nigga but we need to stop actin like it and embrace that intelligence inside.

All facts.
Looking at those fed numbers is his sobering moment. Dude was really reckless- having like 6 kids back to back, letting people get in his pocket, “after the laughter, comes the tears” and what your grandmother said “pride comes after the fall” two of the simplest yet most profound statements in foreshadowing. Along with “be careful who you step on to get to the top, those are the same ones that you answer to when you spiral down to the bottom”.

Fetty looked like he was about to cry or breakdown in that interview; I think that’s why he got so quiet.

A timeout always brings clarity and once the timeout is over they back on the BS.

I don’t see why you gotta bash the man for making a mistake. It could easily be you or I next. Why not have a little understanding for our brotha?

Fetty burned a lot of bridges in Jersey though. There’s a lot of people, who have the same grievances about him. As far as thinking he “made it”, developed a really massive ego , false flagging etc. I think that’s why a lot of people are not really checking for him to help him out or being empathetic.

When one or two people say something, you can play it off as them hating or being vindictive of your success. But when people start having similar stories of how you played them in a similar fashion - it becomes more credible. Dude was acting like he was The Nasir Jones of Jersey off that one hit. Before his family members passing - so he couldn’t really use that as an excuse. But I can’t fault him about acting out off losing his daughter - no one should. I would lose it - and she was just a baby, ; years old. I can’t - life would never be the same if I lost either one of my kids.

I get that but should we kick a man while he’s down? At the end of the day he is a black man.

You’re giving off the impression that you have learned nothing in this new era bruh. We’re in the post pigment era where ideology trumps skin tone 24/7 365. Is the individual in question rich with melanin? Yes. Has he shown himself to be the proselytizer and adherent to a Black agenda? No. So to use a more pedestrian style of speaking.

    FUCK HIM

No I’m not kicking him while he’s down. That’s the reason why I posted the interview - he comes off like a completely different person in the aftermath of all the hardship. Like you could legit see the regret on his face when Joe was giving him advice. Most of the time we see these celeb men put on a face for the public but I can tell he was in a dark space. And he’s only 30 years old- let that man live, learn and friends from this. The public scorn and fall from his spot is enough consequences and in top of that death of his close family members. I agree, black men, don’t get enough opportunities as it is. But if he’s still doing this self pity stuff at 40+ years old or reverting to his old ways, having 6 more kids or other stupid irresponsible behavior to the detriment of himself and Others, then I’ll be like enough is enough. Like that dumbass Juelz Santana.

Did he do something personal to or against you?? You sound wild resentful. Explain.

I could see if he was out here R. Kellying people - Fetty is a classic example of someone who had nothing, getting too much too fast and not realizing his own worth or popularity; he didn’t kill anybody. You sound enraged.

I’m not enraged I’m simply prejudiced against shirtless individuals who produce minimal effort drug ballads. Trust that I maintain the same amount of disdain for the Jewish overlords who commission the buffoonery. Trap Queen is darn near a Dave Chapelle skit.
