I hope they release it in the next year or two at most. Hate that there's rumors of it coming out years from now. I bet Rockstar will focus mostly on their online mode like they did with GTA V. Maybe with the remastered trilogy coming, they will focus their time on getting VI out.
I've never seen something get milked as much as I've seen GTA5 milked. That's a ten year old game damn near and people are still playing it. Pretty sure the next one they'll take their time on...hope it's set in Texas or something lol
It's GTA Online. It feels weird going back to the single player mode, because of how long ago I last played it. They've ruined Red Dead Redemption 2 as well, because I had hoped they would release the Undead Nightmare 2, but instead focussed on their online mode. And it's not even as good as GTA's online mode.
I heard a rumor that it could take place overseas in like the UK. I would be down with Texas though.
Man when the hell is it going to come out?
I hope that they evolve it, the whole “Go to Y to get vehicle, drive to X, kill everyone, get the drugs, drive back to Y” mission structure is so played out. They try to mask it by the vehicle being an airplane, submarine, or etc but the novelty wears off. What I would like to see is:
- Better shooting mechanics. The shooting is archaic and requires auto-aim to be of any value.
- Make the environment a character. The game is not connected to the beautiful worlds they create. It’s like you have this expansive city but you have those cookie cutter missions that could be cut and pasted in any game. If you look at Breath of the Wild, the environment was a part of the game, you had to use the world to accomplish the goals on the game. Need wood for a fire, chop a tree. Need to get down a hill quickly…slide down on your shield. The world was a live.
- Quality over quantity - Better mini games instead of a bajillion trash ones.
They do need to evolve it. The series has become pretty lazy imo. No creativity with GTA V and RDR2. It's especially noticeable in RDR2, because of how often you have to go from point a to b to do a mission. Riding on a horse takes ages.
I think the shooting mechanics are alright, but free aiming controls could use some work.
Supposedly the environment in the game is supposed to change as you play. That's what I heard, so it's just a rumor. But if they have destructible environments, that'd be dope. They said something like how fortnite constantly changes their map, oh an ever expanding map, I think that's what it said.
